-

Traffic control will be handled by the Arkansas State Police, along with signs and traffic barrels.

BENTONVILLE — Work on Interstate 49 will require lane closings in Rogers and Bentonville and a ramp closing in Fayetteville in coming days, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials.

Construction work in Bentonville and Rogers requires closings from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday and Monday. Crews will be installing overhead sign structures. Northbound and southbound lanes alternately will be closed for 15 minute traffic stops between Southwest 14th Street and Central Avenue, weather permitting.

Traffic control will be handled by the Arkansas State Police, along with signs and traffic barrels. The public is advised to be cautious if traveling in this work zone and are encouraged to find alternative routes to avoid the interstate closing.

The project is part of AHTD’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening I-49 to three lanes. Construction is expected to be complete later this year.

In Fayetteville crews completing concrete sealing on the ramp from Arkansas 112 to northbound I-49 will require closing the on-ramp for multiple 15-minute intervals.

Weather permitting, workers will close the lanes for 15-minute intervals between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday night. Motorists should consider alternate routes.

The project is widening I-49 to three lanes and improving the Arkansas 112 interchange.
