Crows to perform Blonde album; curator to talk responsibl­e design

The Old Crow Medicine Show will perform its latest album, 50 Years of Blonde on

Blonde (the band’s “reimagined version” of Bob Dylan’s classic Blonde on Blonde album), in its entirety, 7 p.m. Thursday at Fayettevil­le’s Walton Arts Center, 495 W. Dickson St.

Architectu­re lecture

Cynthia E. Smith, curator of socially responsibl­e design at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonia­n Design Museum, will give a lecture titled “Designing an America of the People, by the People and for the People,” 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Lecture Hall, lower level, Arkansas Arts Center, MacArthur Park, 501 E. Ninth St, Little Rock. A 5:30 reception will precede the lecture. It’s part of the Architectu­re and Design Network’s 2017-18 June Freeman Lecture Series.

Support for the series comes from the Fay Jones School of Architectu­re and Design at the University of Arkansas, Fayettevil­le, and the Central Section of the Arkansas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Admission is free. Call (501) 367-2216.

Music for romantics

ARmusica musicians Julie Cheek, piano; Andrew Irvin, violin; and Stephen Feldman, cello, will give a recital titled “Fall for Romantics,” 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 4106 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock.

Irvin and Cheek will play the Violin Sonata No. 18 in G major, K.301, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Air

for Violin and Piano by Kevin Puts. Feldman will join them for the Piano Trio No. 1 in d minor, op.32, by Anton Arensky. A meet-the-artists reception will follow. Admission is free. Call (501) 753-4281.

Documentar­y films

The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History in MacArthur Park, 503 E. Ninth Street, Little Rock, will screen Ken Burns’ documentar­y The Address, about a school in Putney, Vt., where each year the students are encouraged to practice, memorize and recite the Gettysburg Address, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Arkansas Shakespear­e Theatre will screen Shakespear­e Behind Bars, a 2005 documentar­y about a production of William Shakespear­e’s

The Tempest that Shakespear­e Behind Bars founder Curt Tofteland staged at a Kentucky correction­al complex, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Room 103, Stanley Russ Hall, University of Central Arkansas, 201 Donaghey Ave., Conway.
