Ready or not. Here comes Christmas.
Your Total Fitness Shop ready to get you fit, supplement your health
ames Brown is a man of few words, but when he does chime in he’s a funny guy.
James, who owns Your Total Fitness Shop locations in Fayetteville, Little Rock and Rogers is ready for the Christmas season to get under way. Sort of.
“Is anybody ever really ready for Christmas,” he said, laughing. “From a business perspective I’m ready.” Your Total Fitness Shop specializes in fitness equipment and fitness supplements of all kinds. James said fitness equipment and supplements make a good Christmas gift. “This starts off our busy season,” he said. “Our busy season is January, February and March.”
James attributes the busy time of the year to people making New Years resolutions to get in better physical shape and taking action.
“The days are getting shorter and people are stuck inside the home,” he said. “It just makes sense.” James explained that sometimes giving a gift, such as fitness equipment, is thoughtful when done in the right spirit.
“That’s a tricky question,” he joked. “Especially if it’s your wife.”
A lot of times, James said, couples come in together and they buy a treadmill or an elliptical machine as a gift for each other.
“We do have surprise gift buyers who come in and buy a treadmill or elliptical,” he said. “Those are our most popular pieces of equipment.”
James noted that when couples are fitness equipment shopping he’s noticed a common theme.
“The woman is always in charge,” he explained. “It’s always whatever she wants.”
James said he knows this from experience. He and his wife already own an elliptical machine and a treadmill may be in his future.
While it may be easy to assume that only body builders and power lifters want or need fitness supplements, James insists that supplements are a good fit for almost anyone.
“Supplements are for everybody,” he said. “We sell more to the general public than we do your body builders or power lifters and we have a full range of supplements.”
