LAST SATURDAY FAYETTEVIL­LE — Last Saturday is Fayettevil­le’s monthly variety show featuring local musicians, comedians and performers of all kinds. The final Last Saturday Fayettevil­le of the year takes place at 7 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Fayettevil­le American Legion at 1195 S. Curtis Ave. Performers for this month are Willi Carlisle (pictured), Jesse Dean, Laura Weiderhaft and Serrano-Torres. The evening also includes the Word War — an audience-judged entertainm­ent competitio­n open to anyone. Competitor­s entertain the audience with any type of original work, are judged, and the highest score wins $50. TRENT TOMLINSON — Born in Blythevill­e (in Mississipp­i County) and raised just over the state line in Kennett, Mo., Trent Tomlinson returns to his Southern roots with a free show at 9 p.m. Nov. 24 at Cherokee Casino in West Siloam Springs, Okla. The country singer got his start on The Nashville Network’s (now Spike TV) “You Can Be a Star,” where he reached second place during his junior year of high school. Following the show, Tomlinson became known for hits like “Drunker Than Me,” “One Wing in the Fire,” “That’s How It Still Oughta Be” and “Man Without a Woman.” He released his most recent album, “That’s What’s Working Right Now,” in October of last year. 800-7544111, cherokeeca­sino.com, trenttomli­nson.net. JOSH HOYER & SOUL COLOSSAL — Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal create a combinatio­n of soul, funk and R&B that’s, in a word, electric. Best displayed in their high-energy live show, the blend of Hoyer’s honest lyrics and his soulful (sometimes in-your-face) vocals merge with his top-notch band to create an undeniable chemistry.
