■ Sacha Baron Cohen, the comic actor known for his character “Borat,” has offered to pay the $68 fine levied on each of six Czech tourists detained in Astana, Kazakhstan, for donning “mankinis” and black wigs to dress up like Borat and trying to take a group picture in front of an “I Love Astana” sign.
■ Lexie Harris, 6, a Wisconsin kindergartner, became one of the first youngsters to bag a deer under a new state law that eliminated the state’s minimum hunting age when she used a youth-sized rifle to kill a six-point buck with the help of her father, Tyler.
■ Sam Benningfield, a judge in White County, Tenn., was reprimanded by the state Judicial Conduct Board for offering to shave off jail time for inmates who volunteered for sterilization procedures, prompting protests from civil-rights attorneys and inmate advocates.
■ Godel Leveille is accused of severely biting a police officer who tried to take him into custody during a hearing in a Miami courtroom and now faces resisting arrest and battery charges, authorities said.

■ Kate McClure, 27, started an online campaign that raised more than $13,000 to benefit Johnny Bobbitt Jr., a homeless man who used his last $20 to fill McClure’s gas tank when she ran out of gas on Interstate 95 near Philadelphia and didn’t have money to buy it herself.
