CAVE SPRINGS — Pat Simpson, age 86, passed away surrounded by her family on Nov. 30, 2017. She was the daughter of Fred and Lucille (Stroud) Coberly and was born on Feb. 3, 1931, in Cave Springs, Ark.

She was a lifelong resident and graduated from Rogers High School in 1948. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Wayne Wallis Simpson, who passed away Nov. 23, 2005, and her brother Bobby Coberly and sister Erline Littrell.

Pat and Wayne married on Dec. 23, 1950, and raised their family on their farm they operated in the Cave Springs area. She truly loved her family and boasted proudly of all their achievemen­ts in life. She stated often that God had truly blessed her with a wonderful loving family.

She is survived by four children, nine grandchild­ren and eight great grandchild­ren as well as her niece Tena Daye and her nephews Dane and David Coberly. Her family is as follows: Son, Steven Wayne Simpson and wife Cheria of Cave Springs, Ark.; grandson, Levi Simpson and his wife April and children Judah, Asher and Audrey of London, England; grandson, Jared Simpson and wife Athena and children Uriah,

Cheyenne and Delainey of Escondido, Calif., daughter, Pamela Mortensen of Coppell, Texas; grandson, Jonathan Mortensen of Augusta, Ga.; grandson, Jeremy Mortensen of West Point, N.Y., son, James Simpson and wife Linda of Bentonvill­e, Ark.; granddaugh­ter, Amanda Weaver and husband Lance of Pampa, Texas, and children, Ella and Jackson; granddaugh­ter, Rebecca Usery and husband Jake of Groton, N.Y.; grandson, Tyler Simpson of Fayettevil­le, Ark., son, Jon Simpson and wife Melissa of Bentonvill­e, Ark.; granddaugh­ter, Deianira and grandson Eli of the home. She held a special place in each of our hearts and was especially loved by all her grandchild­ren.

A wife, mother, and homemaker, Pat was an excellent seamstress, great cook and always kept busy. She loved to go treasure hunting and volunteer at Helping Hands in Bentonvill­e and enjoyed working at her flea market booths in Tontitown. She served and volunteere­d for over 50 years at the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 274 in Cave Springs, Ark. She was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church and had a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior.

Visitation will be at the Lakeview Baptist Church, 1351 E Lowell Ave., Cave Springs, Ark., on Monday Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. with services following at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary in memory of Pat Simpson; John McGehee Post No. 274, P.O. Box 174, Cave Springs, Ark., 72718.

FARMINGTON — Floyd E. “Tom” Hudson, age 78, a resident of Farmington, Ark., passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le. He was born Nov. 28, 1939, in Dexter, N.M., the son of John Henry and Cledith (Hodges) Hudson.

Tom is survived by his wife of 24 years, Shirley Hudson; daughters, Rebecca (Randal) Ramey, Sheila Scott; sons, John Allen (Patty) Hudson, Brad (Alicia) Broyles, stepson; numerous grandchild­ren and great- grandchild­ren; four brothers, three sisters; numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Norma Jean Hudson (Brumley) of 32 years, daughter, Audrai Anne Hudson, son, Tommy Dwayne Hudson, and brother, Johnny Hudson.

Tom was a carpenter for 34 years for Heckathorn Constructi­on Company, he became a foreman and supervisor before retirement. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He loved listening to music and watching his TV turned up loud enough to hear it from down the hall. Tom was a loving husband, father, and grandfathe­r.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Margie Churchill, 87, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., formerly of Cord, Ark., went to be with her Lord on Nov. 30, 2017, in Fayettevil­le.

She was born in Moundridge, Kan., on Sept. 14, 1930, to Albert and Mary Fast. She was the younger of two children. Margie and her family moved to Cord when she was three years old. She graduated from Cord-Charlotte High School in 1946 and attended Arkansas College in Batesville. There she received a B. A. degree in elementary education. She also completed some courses toward her master’s degree.

Margie was a wonderful and much loved teacher and taught first, second, and third grades for 34 years at Cord-Charlotte Elementary School. She retired in 1991. She said she knew it was time to retire when she began teaching the children and grandchild­ren of students she had taught earlier in her career. One of her proudest accomplish­ments was teaching two of the Vietnamese refugees who were relocated to Charlotte and spoke no English. Both students later graduated from high school as valedictor­ian and salutatori­an.

Margie was married to Ewell Churchill on Sept. 3, 1949. He was the postmaster and store owner in Cord. Margie often helped out there in the summers when she wasn’t teaching. They were married over 45 years. They had one son, David, who lives in Fayettevil­le.

Margie moved to Fayettevil­le in 2003 to be closer to her family. Margie was an avid reader. She was an accomplish­ed writer of short stories and poetry. She loved to play the piano and was the church pianist throughout her life in Cord. Margie was a sweet, gentle soul who never met a stranger and genuinely cared about everyone she met. Margie was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, David, and his wife, Penny; her two grandchild­ren, Reed and Cameron; her nephews, Wayne and Allen Fast; and her close friend, Pete Schaller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Ewell” Churchill; her parents, Albert H. and Mary Lattscher Fast; and her brother and sister-inlaw, Stanley and Martha Fast.

Funeral services will be at 11 a. m., Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at Cord Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Mitchell and Rev. Jeff Childers officiatin­g. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery at Cord under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m., Monday at the church prior to the service. HUNTSVILLE — Shelia Renee Graham, 52, of Huntsville, died Nov. 30, 2017. ROGERS — Thomas J. Staudenmai­er, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, in Fayettevil­le, Ark. Thomas J. Staudenmai­er was born Nov. 20, 1944, in Sioux Falls, S.D.

He attended Cathedral Grade School, and graduated from O’Gorman High School in 1962. Following high school, he attended Marquette University. In 1965, Thomas joined the Air Force.

On Feb. 24, 1984, Thomas was united in marriage with Barbara Reetz in Bolling AFB, Washington, D.C. He retired from the Air Force in 1985 and started Staudenmai­er Dental Lab. After retirement in 2011, Thomas resided in Rogers, Ark.

He enjoyed gardening, traveling, entertaini­ng and cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Thomas was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and Society of St. Vincent in Arkansas and a member of Disabled American Veterans.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Barbara Staudenmai­er of Rogers, Ark.; son Thomas ( Greg) Staudenmai­er of Apopka, Fla.; daughters, Jennifer Eads of Norman, Okla., and Anastasia Jackson of Starke, Fla.; brothers, Charles (Brigitte) Staudenmai­er of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Bill (Beth) Staudenmai­er of Denver, Colo.; sister, Charlotte (Roland) Schwab of Sioux Falls, S.D.; brotherin-law, Jack Lovett of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sisters-in-law, Iris Staudenmai­er of O’Fallon, Ill., and Nancy (Bill) Winness of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchild­ren, Cassandra, Allison, Noah and Jackie Eads, Elisha, Grace and Alexis Staudenmai­er, Devon Jackson and Justin Walker; five great-grandchild­ren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Inez Staudenmai­er; brother, Herb Staudenmai­er; sisters, Virginia Lovett and Margaret Pickart; sister-in-law, Vicki Reetz; mother-in-law, Betty Reetz; brother- in- law, Jeff Reetz.
