BELLA VISTA — Alice Virginia Baggett Bonds, 76, of Bella Vista, Ark., and a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas, passed away peacefully Dec. 2 surrounded by her precious family at Circle of Life Legacy Village in Bentonville. She was born on Dec. 2, 1941, in Bentonville, Arkansas to Lonas Arland Baggett and Edna Campbell Baggett.
She graduated from Bentonville High School in 1959 and from Sparks School of Nursing in Fort Smith, Ark., in 1962. Alice served as a passionate, caring registered nurse for more than 50 years. She began her nursing career at Bates Memorial Hospital in Bentonville, served as Dr. Stuart Wilson’s cardiology nurse at the Rogers Medical Center and assisted Dr. Larry Wright for more than 30 years before retiring. All of her family and friends benefited from her nursing knowledge and love of caring for others.
Alice was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Rogers, Ark., for over 30 years. She used her beautiful alto voice in the Worship Choir and the Senior Choir, “Saints Alive”. When requested, she shared her musical talents of playing the piano, organ and ukulele to praise our Savior and bless her friends and family.
She cherished her family and always looked forward to the gathering of her siblings and cousins for what became known as the monthly “Sibling Suppers.”
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Alice is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Joe Edd “Pete” Bonds of Bella Vista; one brother, Carl Baggett and wife, Robbie of Rogers, Ark.; two sisters, Mary Baggett of Bentonville and Thelma Skaggs and husband, Bob of Bentonville; her special uncle, Max Baggett of Trussville, Ala.; sister-inlaw, Johnnie Shaffer of Bentonville; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many cherished friends and coworkers.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Apple Creek Health and Rehab and Circle of Life Legacy Village for their compassionate care during Alice’s illness.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at First Baptist Church, 3364 W. Pleasant Grove Road, Rogers, Ark. 72758 with Dr. Wes George officiating. Burial will follow in Bentonville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

BENTONVILLE — Ronald Godshall Alderfer, age 74, passed away in Bentonville on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017. He was born in Harleysville, Pa., on July 14, 1943, to Allen and Eva (Godshall) Alderfer. He is survived by his wife Constance; son, Philip Alderfer and family of Anchorage, Alaska, and daughter, Kristin Webb and family of Centerton. Services will be held privately. BENTONVILLE — Guary Don Jones, 75, of Bentonville died Dec. 3 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. A memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net.
FAYETTEVILLE — Virgie Hanshew of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 91 years old. Virgie was born on Feb. 14, 1926, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Henry and Cora Osburn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Hanshew; three brothers; and three sisters.
Virgie is survived by two sons, Ken Hanshew of Houston, Texas, and Ed Hanshew and wife Sheila of Springdale; daughter, Cindy Hanshew-Tew of Fayetteville; brother, Bill Osburn of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; and many other loved ones.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m. at Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at Brentwood Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.

ROGERS — Vida Mildred Marler, 102, of Rogers died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at her residence. She was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Lowell, Ark., the daughter of Martha Jane Jones and William Lephley Beard.
Vida was a lifetime resident of Northwest Arkansas and was employed with Daisy Manufacturing for 28 years. She was a longtime member of Temple Baptist in Rogers. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and was an active member of Liberty Bell Home Extension Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hershel Marler; and six sisters.
Vida is survived by her son, Jerry Marler and his wife Mary Lou, of Rogers; three brothers; Harold Beard of Pea Ridge, Clint Beard and his wife Leota, of Lowell, Layne Beard and his wife Connie, of Pea Ridge; two grandchildren, Greg Patterson and his wife Sarah of Maine, Donna Valentine and her husband Kevin of Conway; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Rogers. A celebration of Vida’s life will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church in Rogers with Pastor Ron Fields and Pastor Wade Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery located in Springdale.

SPRINGDALE — Earl “Badger” Leroy Hill was born Feb. 11, 1939, in Raymond, Wash., and died Dec. 1, 2017, in the home of his son Gary and Melody Hill.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Kelley Hill; brothers, Clint and Richard Hill; daughter, Cindy Hill Rucker of Centerton.
Survived by son, Gary Hill of Springdale; daughter, Joanie Hill of Canada; sisters, Vivian and Lois Hill; brother, Carl, all of the state of Washington.
A memorial service will be Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at 6 p.m. in Believers Baptist Church, 924 S. “C” Street, Rogers, Ark. Memorials can be made to the family. Memorial Funeral Home of Springdale handled the cremation arrangements.

SPRINGDALE — Donna Walker, of Springdale, died peacefully Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at the age of 73. She was born Aug. 18, 1944, in Olvey, Ark., the daughter of Roy and Geraldine (Harris) Slape.
Her parents and grandparents, Charles and Buna Harris, preceded her in death.
Donna was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Lowell. She was a wonderful mother and teacher. She loved taking photos and spending time with family and friends.
She loved her cats, Heather, Brie, and Scottie.
Husband, Victor Walker; daughter Michelle (Mark) Kosewicz; and grandchildren, Stephen, Matthew, and Kate Kosewicz, survive her.
Funeral is 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home; Pastor Charles Huebner officiating. Visitation an hour prior to service. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers are Matthew Kosewicz, Stephen Kosewicz, Scott Drindak, Bill Phifer and Wes Phifer.

WINSLOW — Sharon Kay Pinto, 58, of Winslow died Dec. 3, 2017, at her home. She was born July 18, 1959, in Springdale the daughter of Juanita and Robert Preston Sr.
As a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas, she loved horses and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sharon is survived by daughter; Tamra (William) Campbell of Winslow; brother, Robert (Jessica) Preston Jr. of West Fork; three nephews, one niece; two grandsons, Chevy Campbell and Chance Moore; and numerous close family members and friends.
A celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Brentwood Community Building.
