■ The UALR women’s basketball team (3-4) is narrowly on pace for its first winning nonconfere­nce record since the 2014-2015 season, when the Trojans started the season with five consecutiv­e victories and finished the year 29-5 with a loss in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

■ The UCA women’s basketball team (4-2) has the nation’s third-ranked scoring defense (48.5 points allowed per game) and will finish its nonconfere­nce schedule at Texas A&M, South Alabama and Florida Internatio­nal before travelling to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Dec. 28 to start the Southland Conference season.

■ With a 76-73 victory over Texas-El Paso on Tuesday in Jonesboro, the Arkansas State University women’s team (4-4) is now 3-3 since its 70-69 victory at Florida on Nov. 14. The Red Wolves are third in the Sun Belt with 14.6 offensive rebounds per game.

■ The ASU men’s team (2-6) have lost four consecutiv­e games under first-year Coach Mike Balado. The streak began with a 87-70 loss at Indiana (5-4) on Nov. 22.

■ The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men’s team (0-9) will play at Orgeon State (53) on Saturday, after the Golden Lions lost its ninth consecutiv­e game 72-57 at Santa Clara last Saturday. UAPB’s 56 points per game ranks last in the Southweste­rn Athletic Conference and 320th in the nation.

■ The UAPB women’s team (2-5) has lost five consecutiv­e games since its 81-73 victory over Philander Smith College. The Lady Lions will finish their nonconfere­nce schedule at Iowa on Saturday and in the Las Vegas Tournament from Dec. 21-22 before opening SWAC play at Mississipp­i Valley State on Jan. 1.
