BLOOD CENTER SEEKS DONORS
Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, the local provider of blood to 40 area hospitals, has announced that all negative blood types are at low levels. O negative, A negative and B negative blood are in short supply, with less than a two-day reserve level for these types. Blood donors of these types are strongly urged to give soon at a CBCO blood drive or donor center. Donor centers are open this week in Springdale and Bentonville, with mobile blood drives scheduled in the area over the next week.

JONES CENTER HOSTS EXPO
The Jones Center, located at 922 E. Emma Ave. in Springdale, will host the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Living Expo from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 13 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 14. The event will showcase regional and local companies with the very best in shopping, fashion, food, kids services, entertainment, cosmetics, jewelry, travel, financial planning and offer enter-to-win contests and free goodies.
There is a $7 admission fee, $5 with a discount coupon, and children 8 and younger are free. $2 off admission cards are available at participating Harps stores.

RED KETTLES STILL AVAILABLE
To help the less fortunate in Carroll County this Christmas, donate to the Salvation Army Red Kettle Ministry. The Red Kettles will be at Sunfest Market, 1 Forest Park Drive in Holiday Island, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. All of the proceeds from the collections will go to help the needy in Carroll County.
Last year the Red Kettle Ministry collected the largest amount for the entire Northwest Arkansas area, and a plaque is displayed in Sunfest in honor of the Holiday Island effort.

ESSA OFFERS WORKSHOPS
Eureka Springs School of the Arts has announced its spring 2018 workshops which include blacksmithing, watercolor, welding, plein air oil painting, drawing and more.
Registration is now open, and most classes will be offered at a 10 percent discount until March 1. Popular classes will fill quickly.

NATURALISTS SEEK STUDENTS
Northwest Arkansas Master Naturalists are now accepting applications for new members’ annual training. Classes start Jan. 20 for the Benton County class, Jan. 24 for the new Carroll County class, and Jan. 27 for the Washington/ Madison County class. Benton and Washington county classes usually meet on alternating Saturdays. Carroll County classes will meet on Wednesday evenings, with field time on Sunday afternoons. Cost is $135 for training and materials, plus $30 annual dues. Cost is $80 for an additional household member if materials are shared, plus annual dues. Limited scholarships are offered. In recent years, these classes have filled quickly.

CREATIVE CENTER OFFERS CLASSES
The Community Creative Center at Walton Arts Center’s Nadine Baum Studios has announced its winter art classes that will begin Jan. 22. Classes include pottery wheel, figure drawing, watercolor, oil and acrylic painting, painting, date nights, family fridays and studio samplers, among others.
The center is located at 505 W. Spring St. in Fayetteville.
