Sheep Dog Impact
As a national nonprofit that exists to engage, assist and empower our nation’s “Sheep Dogs” — those who make up military and first responder professions — Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA) announces their selection to receive $10,000 from LH-Finance. This donation will provide much-needed funding to sponsor Sheep Dogs injured in combat or the line of duty to participate in SDIA’s Outdoor Adventure Program, Disaster Response Missions and Holiday Outreach Programs.
SDIA hosts Outdoor Adventures throughout the year for fellow Sheep Dogs to provide them with the camaraderie and peer support that may be missing after a shift or tour of duty ends — two vital elements that promote a positive state of mind and perspective. For sponsored Sheep Dogs, these adventures are much more than a getaway. While the outings are fun and exciting, injured Sheep Dogs’ participation in these events is critical to their healing. Participating presents them with new challenges that test their rehabilitation progress, restores independence and self-confidence, and gets them off the couch and reengaged in living life to the fullest.

Village House
For 2017, the Men’s Golf Association of Bella Vista had 204 active members that signed up to golf at Bella Vista courses on Tuesdays from April through October. The members enjoyed competitive golf games, met and renewed friendships and helped local charities. The MGA presented $1,000 each to the Village House and Courtesy Van to start the season.

Farm Credit of Western Arkansas donated $1,995 to both the Arkansas FFA Foundation and the Arkansas 4-H Foundation in October. Farm Credit pledged the donations in conjunction with the association’s annual director election. The donation totaled $3,990, and was split evenly between the two organizations.
