CHARLESTON — Arvel “Buddy” Leo Acoach Jr.,

who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born August 19, 1946, in West Helena, Arkansas to the late Arvel Leo Acoach, Sr. and Marguerite Mae (Schieffler) Acoach. He was 71 years old. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Dale (Flanagan) Acoach; a brother, Robert “Bobby” Acoach; and his grandparen­ts, Jerry Mariah and Catherine Acoach and Robert and Nellie Schieffler.

A 1964 graduate of West Helena High School, and a 1968 ROTC graduate of Arkansas Tech University, Buddy was a retired State Trooper for the Arkansas State Police. He worked 27 years for the Arkansas State Police in numerous positions, Internal Affairs, Fire Arms Instructor, SRT Sniper, Special Response Team Coordinato­r and HazMat Coordinato­r. He graduated from the FBI Academy National Academy in 1975, served 7 years as Deputy Federal Security Director in Fort Smith, 6 years with Department of Energy at Fort Chaffee, and 5 years with T.S.A. at Fort Smith Regional Airport. Buddy was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a retired U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a decorated soldier, receiving two Purple Hearts, Bronze Star Medal with Valor and 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendati­on Medal (2 total medals), Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Cross for Gallantry with Silver Star, Vietnam Presidenti­al Unit Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was an Airborne Ranger who also received the Combat Infantry Badge, Small Arms Expert Marksmansh­ip Ribbon, Air Force Outstandin­g Unit Award, Air Force Reserve Medal, Air National Guard Service Ribbon, Security Police Master Qualificat­ion Badge, Security Police Combat Tactics, Security Police Staff Officer, OJT Commander/Staff Officer, and Humanitari­an Service Medal. Buddy retired from the military as a Lieutenant Colonel after 28 years of service and served as the Commander of both the 188th Fighter Wing of the Arkansas National Guard and 554th Silver Flag Alpha Security Police Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base for the Air Force Reserve. An Eagle Scout, Buddy’s commitment to the community never waivered. He was a member of Leadership Fort Smith, Rotary Club, District President of Mid-America Exchange Club, President of Fort Smith Noon Exchange Club, President of Fort Smith Morning Exchange Club, served on the Board of Trustees of the Hamilton House Child Safety Center, served as an usher for Arkansas Razorbacks football

and basketball games, a huge supporter of Charleston School District and Charleston Tiger Football Foundation, and he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Charleston.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 29th, at Community Bible Church at 9201 Dallas St. Fort Smith, Arkansas. Burial of cremains, with full military honors and Arkansas State Police Honor Guard, will be at 12 noon at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lois (Oxford) Acoach; his childen, John Acoach and wife Melinda of Fayettevil­le, Sarah Anne Fritschie and husband Eric of North Little Rock, Autumn Moore of Fort Smith, Leah Acoach of Rogers, Dusty Smith and husband Bryan of Charleston and Wendi Curtis and husband Daniel of Charleston; 11 grandchild­ren, Rebekah Fritschie, Emma Fritschie, Jordan Moore, Allie Moore, Ike Moore, Christophe­r Smith and wife Mindy, Kayla Smith, Danielle Curtis, Dalton Curtis, and Matthew Curtis; two great-grandchild­ren, Caynen Smith and Ellie Smith; six cherished dogs, Flash, Shorty, Lilly, Bonnie, Bandit and Sparky.

Honorary pallbearer­s will be members of the Ebbing Air National Guard Base 188th Wing, Arkansas State Police, and Exchange Club.

EL DORADO — Eva

Claire Bryant Whatley, 92, of El Dorado, passed from this life on Monday, January 22, 2018. She was born December 8th, 1925, to Porter Bryant and Quince Phillips Bryant in El Dorado.

Claire, or Mony, as she was lovingly called by her grandchild­ren and many others, was a lifelong seeker of knowledge and a history teacher at El Dorado High for over 20 years. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Texas State University. After college she moved to Washington D.C. and worked for the State Department as a foreign language translator. She started her family back in her hometown and was a founding member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her brother, Dr. Phillip Bryant and her two sisters, Dorothy (Dottie) Johnston, and Ann (Tica) Bryant Foster. Claire is survived by her three daughters, Susan Whatley, Ellen Parker (Terry) and Carol Shoup (Steve). She had an extremely close relationsh­ip with her eight grandchild­ren, 17 great-grandchild­ren and three great-great-grandchild­ren. She was also beloved by all her nieces and nephews.

She had a love of history and politics and was an occasional “Letter to the Editor” writer. Always the patriot, she loved her country. To everyone she ever met, it was obvious that she was a true follower of her Lord, and loved her fellow man.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 700 W. 8th St. with the Rev. Travis Langley officiatin­g. There will be a visitation with the family beginning at 1 p.m. also at the church.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — David

Thomas Bailey, age 73, of Fayettevil­le, Arkansas died at home after a long battle with multiple myeloma. He was born March 14, 1944 in New Haven, Connecticu­t to Kenneth and Sherline Bailey.

He was surrounded by family and friends during his last days. A wise and friendly man, he attracted a loyal circle of friends everywhere he lived, whether that was Huntsville, Texas, Fayettevil­le, Arkansas, or Deer Isle, Maine. Although many remember him for his long career as a professor at SHSU, he was most in his element pursuing one of his hobbies: carpentry, blacksmith­ing, or working on cars. At home, he loved to host parties where he could tell stories, wax philosophi­cal, or share his unconventi­onal views on the issues of the day. He is survived by his children, Kay Bailey of Arlington, Virginia, and David Bailey of Libertyvil­le, Illinois, and by his four grandchild­ren, Iona and Liam Bailey and Amanda and Elisa Boiani.

There will be a brief service followed by a potluck and sharing of stories about David at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 224 N East Ave, in Fayettevil­le from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Andrew Todd McClarrino­n,

45, of Fayettevil­le, Ark. passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 in his home. He was born August 29, 1972 in Springfiel­d, Mo. to Richard Scott McClarrino­n and Mary Jane (Logan) McClarrino­n.

He graduated Fayettevil­le High School 1990, the University of Arkansas 1994 with a BSCE and had completed additional coursework toward a Master’s Degree in civil engineerin­g. He was co-owner GTS, Inc.

Andy was loved and will be missed by his family, co-workers, and a host of friends from high school, college and a close group of friends who met regularly after hours to connect and share their views on the trials of life. He gave as good as he got.

He enjoyed being dad to his children Serena and Samuel, sharing experience­s and shaping them for the future. Andy loved the land and spent hours working in his private forest and on his house, learning woodworkin­g skills and establishi­ng a small colony of bees.

He is survived by one daughter, Serena Jane McClarrino­n of Springdale, Ark., one son, Samuel Ray McClarrino­n of Bakersfiel­d, Calif., his father, Rick McClarrino­n and his wife Jo of Fayettevil­le, Ark., his mother Mary Jane McClarrino­n of Fayettevil­le, Ark., one brother, Scott McClarrino­n and his wife Celynn and his daughter Mary Celine McClarrino­n of Eagle-Vail, Colo., and his paternal grandmothe­r, Alice McClarrino­n of Pittsburg, Kan.

HUNTSVILLE — Harvey

Joe McLoud, 88, of Huntsville, died January 25, 2018 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. Harvey was born October 19, 1929 in Huntsville, the son of Joseph and Laura Presley McLoud. Harvey was married to Virginia Simpson on January 1, 1953, and celebrated 65 years of marriage this year. A loving husband and father, Harvey also loved antiques, sports, and his church.

He was preceded in death by his parent; one son, Tommy Joe McLoud; one brother, Hoyt McLoud; one sister, Cleo Culwell; and two nephews, Herb Cullwell and Bill McLoud. Harvey is survived by his wife, Virginia; a daughter, Pam McLoud of Huntsville; two grandsons, Joseph McLoud and Jason McLoud of Springfiel­d, Mo.; and one daughter-in-law, Jill McLoud of Springfiel­d, Mo.

ROGERS — Lavon “Bonnie” Bernice Walker,

74, of Rogers passed away January 21, 2018. She was born May 6, 1943 in Springdale the daughter of Virgil and Vicie McGarrah Luper. Survived by two brothers, Harold and Glen Luper all of Springdale.

RUSSELLVIL­LE —

Franklin Delano

Hardcastle, of Russellvil­le, Arkansas was born on July 6, 1936, in Hanford, Kings County, California. He was the youngest child of twelve born to Emory Lafayette and Martha Jane (Hendricks) Hardcastle. He departed this life, Tuesday, January 24, 2018 in Russellvil­le, Arkansas at the age of 81 years.

A musician and music teacher by trade, he spent many years touring the nations and Alaska with various musical groups. He was in Vietnam and Thailand with the USO in 1971. He played the pedal steel guitar with Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Freddie Hart and many other wellknown country music artists. Frank also recorded and produced his own light jazz instrument­al album on steel guitar, entitled “Daddy Frank Steels Your Heart.” He was a member of the Elks Lodge. In 1978 Frank left California and eventually settled in Rogers, Arkansas.

He is survived by his three children, son, Dr. Franklin D. Hardcastle of Russellvil­le, Arkansas; daughter, Angela Cecere of Glendale, Arizona; daughter, Christina Friedrich of Laveen, Arizona; five grandsons, two granddaugh­ters, other relatives and loved ones. Frank was united in marriage to Lucille (Garner) Hardcastle, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Martha Hardcastle, six brothers and five sisters.

SPRINGDALE — Martin

Juan Munoz Ingram, 21, of Springdale passed away Monday, January 23, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born May 13, 1996 in Fayettevil­le. Martin graduated from Springdale High School in 2014. He was a Medical Support Representa­tive for Mercy Clinic General Surgery in Rogers. He enjoyed cooking, he loved music playing, video games and spending time with family and friends. He was a perfection­ist. Martin was known to say, “It’s been real, it’s been fun, but it hadn’t been real fun.” He had a smile that would light up a room. He was full of life and he created a cheerful atmosphere wherever he went. He never met a stranger and would help anyone that needed it.

He was preceded in death by his Nana, Leona Wright. Survivors include his mother, Angela Munoz and her husband Octavio of Springdale; his grandparen­ts, Papa Alvin Ingram and Memaw, Debbie Ingram of Springdale; two uncles, Justin Ingram and wife Alyson of Hindsville and Dexter Hamblin of Hindsville; four aunts, Tanya Scott and husband Preston of Huntsville, Susan Powers of Springdale, Jana Reed and husband Joe of Springdale and Jenna Pitre and husband Ryan of Tulsa, several cousins and many friends.

SPRINGDALE — Stanley

Ray Vaughn Jr., 51, of Springdale, Arkansas passed away January 17, 2018. He was born January 31, 1966 in Frankfort, Indiana to Stanley Vaughn and Sandra Thomas.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Irene Vaughn; four daughters, Natasha Vaughn, Felicha Vaughn, Jessica Vaughn, and Sandra Martinez; four grandchild­ren, Ja’Quvyis Vaughn, Nevaeh Vaughn, Raffaella Martinez, Isabelle Martinez; his mother, Sandra Thomas; his father, Stanley Ray Vaughn Sr. and sister, Sonya Trob both of Indiana; 19 nieces and nephews; and 15 great-nieces and nephews. Stanley had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back. Stanley will be deeply missed.

SPRINGDALE — Darrel

Allen Worth, age 65, of Springdale passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2017. He was born September 2, 1952 in Lake, Michigan to Melva Jo and Robert Worth. Darrel was married to Connie Hoover on June 10, 1975. He did work as an accountant. He had a passion for painting, woodworkin­g, and gardening.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Christina, and father, Robert. He is survived by Connie Worth of the home, mother, Melva Jo (Amos) Hudson of Arizona, daughter, Abigail (Jeremy) Freeman of Prairie Grove, brother, Mike (Penny) Worth and sisters, Bobbie (Richard) Gott, Pam Pierce, and Lynn Campbell all of Michigan, as well as several niece and nephews. Darrel also had six grandchild­ren: Zoe, Joshua, James, A.J., Crimson, and Clover.

WINSLOW — Anna Ames Stuart, 77, of Winslow, Arkansas passed away on January 21, 2018 at Fayettevil­le Health and Rehab. She was born July 30, 1940 in Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Stuart of the home; her son, Stan Mooney and his wife, Beth, of Ozark; her grandson, Garrett Mooney of Ozark; her brother, Everett Littlepage of Ozark; her daughter-in-law. Debbie and husband, Kevin Restivo of Carl Junction, Missouri and their daughters, Talia and Dara.

Anna worked as an accountant, in real estate and making cabin cruiser boats. She never met a stranger and had many friends. Anna was well known for her strong and feisty personalit­y, her love of conversing and her boundless energy. She loved studying and doing research on the Bible and was an avid reader. Anna dearly loved her God Jehovah and was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, having been baptized in Ft. Smith in 1959. She was very active in six congregati­ons in Northwest Arkansas, the last being Riverside Park in West Fork, Arkansas.
