Parents shouldn’t get free ride into U.S.

Democrats claim that DACA children should not be blamed for the sins of their parents, but the parents should not be given a free ride for their original sin of entering the country illegally. By conservative estimates it costs taxpayers $11,000 per year to educate a child in this country, so many of these DACA children have already benefited to the tune of up to $132,000 for their free education while they remained here, and their parents have benefited from free child care during the day as they displaced U.S. workers illegally with falsified documents or under-the-table payments and sent money back to their home countries.

To solve the DACA dilemma, why not go to the source of the problem, the people who snuck into the U.S. illegally with their children in tow? How about a legislative solution that allows the children to stay in the United States if their adult parents who broke the law to bring them here illegally agree to leave the country and apply to come back as legal immigrants. If they love their children, surely they would make the sacrifice to allow their children to stay and pursue their “dreams,” and if they don’t love their children enough to do that, the U.S. should treat the family as a whole and allow them to stay together as a family in the country from which they came.
