Applicants sought for Fayetteville groups
FAYETTEVILLE — Anyone interested should apply for a number of spots up for grabs on various boards, committees and commissions.
Most notably, three seats on the Planning Commission will be open. Commissioners Matt Hoffman and Tom Brown said they intend to reapply for their positions. Commissioner Ryan Noble will leave after serving two, three-year terms.
The commission has nine members and makes recommendations to the City Council regarding zoning changes, annexations and building uses. It also weighs in on plans and holds final say on certain submitted development plans and permit applications for use of properties.
One spot on the Advertising and Promotion Commission, held by Ching Mong, will be available. That candidate must be an owner or manager of a business pertaining to tourism. Commissioners can serve two fouryear terms.
The library’s board will have two spots open to any resident.
Applicants for all boards, committees and commissions must live in the city and be a registered voter. All applicants must submit a new application for each board, commission or committee. Applications may be emailed to cityclerk@fayetteville-ar.gov or mailed to the Office of the City Clerk at 113 W. Mountain St., Fayetteville, Ark., 72701.
