Obituaries
BELLA VISTA — Berdein A. McMillan, 98, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Feb. 9, 2018, in Springdale at Earlene Howard Hospice. She was born on Dec. 4, 1919, in Cooper, Iowa, to Gerald Wells Sheets and Henrietta (Johnson) Sheets.
She and her husband, Charles moved to Bella Vista in 1993 from Gladstone, Mo. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of the Bella Vista Community Church, Bella Vista Garden Club, supporter of the Bella Vista Library and Bella Vista Animal Shelter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles B. McMillan Jr.; and three brothers, Dean Howard Sheets, Merle August Sheets and Walter Gerald Sheets.
She is survived by her nieces, Jeri Bennett of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Linda Kern of Tucson, Ariz., and their families.
Inurnment will be at the Bella Vista Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Charity of Donor’s Choice.
BENTONVILLE —
Maxine Erma McKenzie,
87-year-old resident of Bentonville, Ark., died Feb. 9, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family. Born on April 19, 1930, in Catoosa, Okla., she was the daughter of Rufus and Nola Smith.
Maxine married Milo McKenzie on Sept. 2, 1950, in Tulsa, Okla. She worked as a nursing home administrator for a few years before becoming a school teacher for the Siloam Springs Alternative School. Maxine was a member of the Siloam Springs Writer’s Club and Liberty Baptist Church in Siloam Springs. Her hobbies were painting and fishing, and she loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milo; her
parents, Rufus and Nola; a baby girl, Karen Sue McKenzie; three brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by two sons, Danny McKenzie and wife Cathy of Tulsa, Okla., and Steve McKenzie and wife Nancy of West Fork, Ark.; two daughters, Joni Aurand and husband Mike of Bentonville, and Kathy Riley and husband Frank of Bentonville; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Claudia Leonard of Skiatook, Okla.; one brother, Wiley Smith of Spavinaw, Okla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs, Okla., with Pastor Mitch Leonard officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.

FAYETTEVILLE — Mary
Jo Beagle, 74, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, in Fayetteville. She was born March 15, 1943, in Grapevine, Texas, to Joseph Henry McClellan and Eleanor Violet (Johnson) McClellan.
She was a former office manager.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary O’Brien of Fayetteville; and two grandchildren, Makalya Long of Springdale, Ark., and Andre Quinn of Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE — Mary
Griffin, age 82, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018. She was born Nov. 17, 1935, in Lamar, Colo., the daughter of Emmanuel and Rilla Sims Grauberger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Griffin; her son, Steve Griffin and two sisters, Joan Weimer and Wanda Weatherred.
She was a homemaker. She is survived by a son, Patrick Griffin and his wife Kathy of West Fork; a brother, Dean Grauberger of Topeka, Kan.; two sisters, Erma Beck of Delta, Colo., and Jean Eddy of Parma, Idaho; daughter-inlaw, Tina Griffin of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held noon–1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 at Moore’s Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

ROGERS — Debbra
Jean Cockrell, 60, of Rogers passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, in her home. She was born Nov. 12, 1957, in Rogers to William and Anna (Shook) Dunson. Debbra was preceded in death by her father; one son, Boyd Cockrell, Jr.; one sister, Marjorie Luper; and one brother, Johnny Dunson.
Survivors include her husband, Boyd, of Rogers; her mother; one son, Thomas Copp (Emily) of Pea Ridge; three daughters: Maria Copp, Edna Copp, and Katie Dee (Rocky), all of Rogers; one brother, Kelly Dunson of Pineville, Mo.; three sisters: Dianna Anderson (Clayton) of Van Buren, Linda Colson (Vernon) of Mannford, Okla., and Janie Berry (Bill) of Rogers; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. First Baptist Church Rogers at the Olive Street location, and her ashes will be placed at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery.

SPRINGDALE — Vera
Lucille Thomas, 97, of Springdale died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018. She was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Foreman, Ark., to Wallace and Cora McCandless Callicott.
Vera loved flowers and enjoyed making floral arrangements and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Wayne Thomas, in 1982.
She is survived by two children, Rodney Wayne Thomas and wife Brenda of Lowell, Sharon E. Cox and husband David of Springdale; a brother, Cecil Callicott, and a sister, Vernita Jordan, both of Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Welsey, Getty, Randi; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel.

TONTITOWN — Vickie Lynn Drake, age 56, of Tontitown, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Feb. 9, 2018. She was born April 3, 1961, in Springdale, Ark., to the late William Russell and Letha Marshall Griffith.
She was a member of New Life Tabernacle Church and a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Drake was preceded by her parents and one brother, Dennis Griffith.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Drake Sr., of the home; one son, Tim Drake Jr., of the home; one daughter, Natasha Mayes and her husband, William, of Rogers, Ark.; two grandchildren, Landon Mayes and Laney Mayes; and two sisters, Linda Vigil of Bella Vista, Ark., and Sharon Gray, of Rogers, Ark.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Elm Springs Cemetery, with Pastor Kyle Blanton officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Ave., Springdale, Ark., 72762.
