Jailer’s wife arrested, facing meth charges
FORT SMITH — A Sebastian County jail sergeant is the subject of an internal investigation after his wife was arrested on drug charges, a Sheriff’s Office news release said.
Sheriff’s Capt. Philip Pevehouse said Chris Schuch, whom he described as a longtime Sheriff’s Office employee, was suspended pending completion of the investigation.
As of Wednesday there was no evidence Schuch was involved in any criminal activity, Pevehouse said. The investigation is to determine whether he violated any department policies.
Pevehouse said in the release issued Tuesday that Bobbi Schuch, 42, of Fort Smith was arrested after an investigation Monday of distribution of methamphetamine. In searching the home, deputies found scales, baggies, methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.
She was booked into the county jail on charges of maintaining a premises for drug sales, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and delivery of methamphetamine. She has been released on bond, the news release said.
Formal charges hadn’t been filed against Bobbi Schuch as of Wednesday.
Also arrested in the investigation was Joshua Stiles, 33, of Fort Smith on a charge of delivery of methamphetamine, the release said.
