Perinchief shines in UA Qualifier

Arkansas Razorbacks sophomore Jah-Nhai Perinchief had personal-bests in winning the high jump at 7 feet, 3 1/2 inches and taking second in the triple jump with a leap of 52-6 on Friday at the UA Qualifier at the Randal Tyson Center in Fayettevil­le.

Perinchief’s high jump tied for No. 8 on the University of Arkansas, Fayettevil­le all-time indoor list and ranks No. 9 nationally this season. His triple jump ranks 13th nationally.

Razorbacks junior Obi Igbokwe, who ranks third nationally in the 400, ran a personal-best 20.69 seconds to take second in 200. Senior Kenzo Cotton took third in the 200 at 20.72. Igbokwe and Cotton rank sixth and seventh, respective­ly, in the NCAA.

Junior Rhayko Schwartz won the 400 for the No. 5-ranked Razorbacks in a personal-best 46.08 to rank 10th nationally.

Freshman Janeek Brown won the 60-meter hurdles for Arkansas’ No. 1-ranked women’s team in a personal-best 8.15, the 15th-fastest time this season.

Razorbacks sophomore Jada Baylark, from Little Rock, took third in the 200 in 23.43. Kailee Sawyer took second in the 800 (2:11.04) and Emily Jeacock took third (2:13.55). Alex Ritchey took second in the 3,000 (10:05.55). Devin Clark and Sydney Brown took second and third in the mile in 4:46.21 and 4:48.62, respective­ly.

Carmen Sitz was second in the high jump (5-5 1 /4) and Morgan Hartsell cleared 13-1 1/2 for second in the pole vault.
