FAYETTEVIL­LE — Virginia Berlene Glass, age 87, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Katherine’s Place in Fayettevil­le. She was born on October 11, 1930, in Lincoln, Arkansas, to James Garfield and Lydia Hilliard Wilson. She is preceded in death by her four sisters, Gertrude Cox, Pauline Burks, Bernice Smith, and Betty Wilson; and her five brothers, James Wilson, Johnny Wilson, Charles Wilson, Paul Wilson, and Bobby Lee Wilson.

Virginia was a member of White Rock Light of Faith Pentecosta­l Church in Fayettevil­le. She loved reading her Bible. Her favorite past times included gardening, fishing, and crochet.

She is survived by her loving husband of forty-five years, Jimmy Glass of the home; her brother, Loyd Wilson of Cartervill­e, Missouri; her four sisters, Imogene Biswell, Louise Cooper, Lucille Wilson, and Wanda Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 1–2 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at White Rock Light of Faith Pentecosta­l Church at 6560 W Wedington Drive, Fayettevil­le, Ark., 72704. Interment to follow at Baptist Ford Cemetery in Greenland.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Apolonio “Paul” Hernandez Sr., 79 of Fayettevil­le passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le. He was born August 9, 1938 in Harlingen, Texas to Eugenio and Apolnia Garcia Hernandez.

Paul was a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas. He retired from Campbell Soup Company and Superior Wheel. Paul loved working with horses and cattle in Duke, Oklahoma and the Don Kiezzar feedlot. He loved playing the accordion and guitar.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Gino and Paul David.

Survivors include four sons, nine daughters, one sister, 45 grandchild­ren and 64 great grandchild­ren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Graveside services will be at the Altus Cemetery on Thursday at 3 p.m. in Altus, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

OZARK — Marvin “Jim” Marrs, 69, of Ozark, Ark. passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Ft. Smith. He was born April 6, 1948 in Springdale.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served during the Vietnam War. He worked at Cooper Electric for over 40+ years. He was baptized through the Church of Christ church. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Jim is survived by his wife, Connie Sue Kruse Marrs to whom he was married for over 47 years; a daughter, Michelle Marrs of Fayettevil­le; a grandson, Brandon Leftwich and his fiancé, Kailie Schafer of Prairie Grove; and 2 great-grandchild­ren, Hayden and Macie Leftwich.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Beard’s Chapel.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Beard’s Chapel with the Reverend Jasper Hankins officiatin­g.

Private interment will be in the Round Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Beard’s Chapel.

SPRINGDALE — Ernestine Violet Tedford Power, 87 of Springdale, Ark., passed away on February 16, 2018 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born in the community of Bethlehem in Lonoke County, Ark., on July 11, 1930 to Luther and Golden Tedford.

Tena is preceded in death by her brothers Reece, L. E., and Walker Tedford. She is survived by her sons Chuck Power, and wife Stacie of Poulsbo, Wash.; Ken Power, and wife Denise, of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; Bruce Power, and wife Donna, of Springdale, Ark.; Ted Power, and wife Brenda of Bentonvill­e, Ark.; one niece, Mary Jane Vines Staggs, and husband Ted, of Cabot, Ark.; thirteen grandchild­ren and twelve great-grandchild­ren.

Tena attended Ouachita Baptist University where she met the “love of her life”, Ralph Power. They moved to Springdale, Ark., in 1953. After raising her children in Springdale she moved to Little Rock, Ark., and worked at Dillard’s corporate office for 10 years. She returned to Springdale in 1995 and worked at the Walmart corporate office for several years.

Tena was very active in church life. She was the piano player for Temple Baptist Church in Springdale for many years along with other churches throughout her life. She also attended First Baptist Church in Springdale, First Baptist Church in Centerton, and New Hope Fellowship in Springdale.

In Tena’s younger years she enjoyed bowling and participat­ed in several bowling leagues. She also loved to cook and was always the most entertaini­ng person at the table. She was an extremely caring & humorous person who loved gospel quartet music, attended countless gospel concerts, and was a true Booth Brothers and Gaither Vocal Band groupie!!!

Tena moved to Morningsid­e Assisted Living in 2016 where she was loved for her enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed her time there.

Funeral services will be held at Sisco Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 22nd – 705 West Meadow Ave., Springdale, Ark., with interment to follow at Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 p.m. February 21st at Sisco Funeral Chapel.

LITTLE ROCK — Barbara June Daniel Owens, 62, of Little Rock gained her Heavenly garden on February 15, 2018. Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Milton. She is survived by her sisters, Betty (Jim) Hatch of Little Rock, Ark.; Becky (Adrian) Luttrell of Springdale, Ark.; Susan Todd of Jacksonvil­le, Ark.; Barbie Robilio of Memphis, Tenn.; and her special friend, David Jarratt of Searcy, Ark. She is also survived by Paige Kilpatrick; Mike (Debbie) Luttrell; Stephanie (Kyle) Stone; Jennifer Henard; Janna (Michael) Finnell; John (Shawna) Robilio; Jennie (Chris) Dollar; and a host of grand nieces and nephews.

June put everything she had into everything she did. She loved her insurance career. She loved the relationsh­ips she formed with her fellow employees, clients, and underwrite­rs. She was employed with New Hampshire Insurance Company; Cobb Hollenberg and Associates; Ramsey Krug Farrell and Lensing, now Banc Corp South; Rebsamen Insurance Company now Regions; Stephens Insurance, and Meadors Adams and Lee Insurance Agency.

In most recent years, she worked for Chico’s, she often said she was their best customer, because she spent more than she made with them.

June’s favorite hobby was her painting. She could work for hours in her work studio and produced beautiful pieces of art for her family and friends. One of her greatest enjoyments was seeing the pleasure on other’s faces when she presented them with one of her pieces of art.

June always had a beautiful yard. She surrounded herself and her home with beautiful flowers and landscapin­g.

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Robert F. “Bob” Benedict, age 96, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away Friday February 16, 2018 at the Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community – Collins House in Manhattan, Kansas.

Bob was born on October 17, 1921 in Waterville, Kansas the son of Edna (Davis) and Foster Benedict. After graduating high school he attended

the University of Kansas for one year, before moving to Wichita, Kansas to work for Culver Aircraft.

On April 4, 1943, Bob married the love of his life, June Clark, in Barnes, Kansas. He and June moved to Garden City, Kansas, where Bob worked managed the McCalliste­r-Fitzgerald Lumberyard for twenty years. During this time, Bob and June purchased the Coast-to-Coast Hardware Stare in Garden City. They owned and operated the store for 25 years before selling and retiring to Bella Vista, Arkansas.

Bob and June enjoyed their time in Bella Vista, playing golf, traveling, and entertaini­ng family and friends. They moved back to Manhattan, Kansas to Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community to be closer to their daughter’s family. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing golf, traveling near and far, and he was a big sports fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Ed Benedict.

Bob is survived by his wife of 74 years, June Benedict, his daughter, Terri Benedict Herde, his son-in-law, John Herde, his grandchild­ren, Laura Herde, Bryan Herde, and Katy Herde, his six great-grandchild­ren, and his brother Jack Benedict and his wife Jan of Arizona.

The family will greet friends during a visitation at 1 p.m. Wednesday February 21, 2018 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan.

Memorial Service will be held following the visitation at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Melanie Martin officiatin­g. Private Inurnment will be held at a later date.

COLCORD, Okla. — Carla Kay Easley, 61 year old resident of Colcord, Oklahoma, died February 17, 2018, at Northwest Medical Center, Springdale, Arkansas. Born August 13, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the daughter of Roy H. Colley and Alberta Main Colley. Carla married Mark Easley, August 29, 1975 at Mason Valley Baptist Church. She was a farmer and housewife, and a member of Gentry First Baptist Church.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents, brother Rusty Colley and sister Susie Harris.

Survivors include her husband Mark of the home; son Michael Easley and wife Megan of Gentry, Arkansas; daughter Mary Beth Carreira and husband Anthony of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and four grandchild­ren Natalee, Lucus, Christian and Amelia.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Burial will be private.
