**things to like

***plenty to like ****confident choice 1 Purse $40,000, 6 furlongs, fillies, 3-year-olds, maiden claiming $50,000

***PRINCESS OF THE NYL has consistently earned the field’s fastest Beyer figures, and the two-time beaten favorite picks up a Hall of Fame rider and should appreciate a fast track. NOHO finished fourth in an encouraging career debut at Keeneland, and she is dropping into the maiden-claiming ranks for the first time after a dull wet-track race. CLOUDY

CLAUDIA is an unraced filly from the powerful barn of trainer Steve Asmussen, and she showed some good works this winter at Houston. 2 Purse $21,000, 6 furlongs, 3-yearolds and up, Arkansas-bred, maiden claiming $12,500

***YOO HOO’S ROCKET finished second behind a runaway winner in his first race without blinkers. He is taking a slight drop in class, and the stable is switching to its go-to rider. ZACK RIDGE ROAD has finished in-the-money in three consecutive races, and the late runner is wearing blinkers for the first time. THE PSYCHIC is dropping in price after a fast-closing second-place finish, and he has found his company running in state-bred races.

3 Purse $41,000, 6 furlongs, 3-yearolds and up who have never won two races, claiming $50,000

****DIVINE INTERVENTIO raced competitively in allowance races last season in New York, and he showed a series of good looking breezes this winter at Houston. RED CLAY MAGIC has been pressing the pace in stronger allowance races at the meeting, and he appears dangerous at the conditioned-claiming level. ZAEVION easily defeated $40K maiden-claimers in his 2018 debut, and he may rebound after an even effort in the slop against starter allowance rivals. 4 Purse $80,000, 1 1/16 miles, fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up, allowance optional claiming

**IMPASSE has won both of her career races at Oaklawn, and she finished a competitive fourth in the 2018 Pippin. She is back on a fast track after a dull effort on a sloppy surface. DORODANSA finished third in her return from a nine-week freshening, and she figures to move forward for new and winning trainer Kellyn Gorder. DREAMCALL is a strong finisher who was stake-placed at Remington, and she was a clear maiden-allowance winner last season at Oaklawn.

5 Purse $79,000, 1 mile, 3-yearolds, allowance optional claiming

***EXCLAMATION POINT has recorded two sharp works since a decisive front-running career debut sprint victory, and the Brad Cox trainee is bred to carry his speed at least this far. ARTICULATOR has finished with energy in consecutive sprint victories, and he has competitive Beyer figures and is another bred to route. PICKFORD followed a photo finish maiden victory at Churchill with a toughluck defeat in a starter allowance route, and he is a steadily improving colt with winning connections. 6 Purse $38,000, 6 furlongs, 4-yearolds and up, claiming $25,000

**MATROOH is an old class horse who came to life when beaten a head by an odds-on favorite. He is back at the same claiming price, and trainer Dan Peitz saddled two winners Thursday. TOASTING MASTER has won three of his past five fast-track races, and he is back on a preferred surface after two disappointing wet-track routes. He was scratched Friday in favor of this race. KAPELLMEISTER defeated $20,000 claimers in clear fashion just two races back, and he returns to Hot Springs after a fourth-place finish at Houston.

7 The Nodouble Breeders’. Purse $100,000, 6 furlongs, colts and geldings, 3-year-olds and up ****FIVE O ONE easily won his first two starts last winter, including the Rainbow

Stakes, and he was very good dominating older allowance rivals in his 2018 unveiling. RACER won two state-bred stakes last season at Oaklawn, and he is back sprinting after a useful route race against stronger “open” rivals. GLACKEN’S GHOST finished second behind the top selection in his seasonal debut, and he gets another chance after a determined two-turn victory. 8 The Spring Fever. Purse $125,000, 5½ furlongs, fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up

***GOLDEN MISCHIEF is a multiple stake-winner who is battle tested in graded races, and she is a good finisher in a field with plenty of early speed.

OKIE DIVA has won four of her past five races, and the Oklahoma-bred filly has competitive Beyer figures and is another capable of running her best from off the pace. THOUGHTLESS won sprint stakes at two different tracks in 2017, and she is another likely to benefit from a contentious pace battle. 9 Purse $79,000, 1 mile, 4-year-olds and up, allowance

***CHRIS AND DAVE put away the opposing speed but was unable to hold off a sharp late-runner in a strong runner-up finish, and he has a terrific record at this 1-mile distance. BOLD PROPHET made every pole a winning one in a maiden-allowance victory, and he appears improved for leading trainer Brad Cox.

GRAY SKY has finished fast in two starts at the meeting, and he looms as a major late threat, especially if the top two go out too fast.
