PREP BASEBALL
Cabot 11, Bentonville High 1
Cabot jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings and went on to earn a run-rule victory over Bentonville in a nonconference game played Monday at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville.
The Tigers (3-1) were held to 2 singles, both by Kam’Ron Mays-Hunt. He eventually scored Bentonville’s only run in the fourth when he singled and later scored on a throwing error after he had stolen third base.
Austin Garrett allowed 6 runs on 8 hits and took the loss, while reliever Hunter Hook allowed 5 runs in just 11/ innings.
Bentonville doesn’t play again until next week when it opens 7A-West Conference play at home against Fayetteville.

Rogers Heritage 3
The Cardinals scored 9 runs in the bottom of the first inning and went on to the run-rule win Monday.
Drew Sturgeon went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple, drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Farmington, while Logan Bobak went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and triple, drove in a run and scored 2. Kyle Gates picked up the win, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out 2 and walked 3.
Montana Kennan went 2-for-3 and drove in a run for Heritage (1-3).
Bentonville West 9, Gravette 0
Jaron Jenkins and Maddox Thornton combined on a 3-hitter, and West scored 5 times in the second inning en route to a nonconference win at Gravette.
Dylan Carter put the Wolverines (4-0) on the scoreboard with a 2-run single in the second, then added an RBI triple in the third as West scored 4 more times in that inning. Jason Gloeckler and Thornton each had 2 runs and scored twice, while Roger Alexander drove in 2 runs.
Jenkins allowed 2 hits and struck out 5 over 3 innings, while Thornton threw 4 innings and allowed just 1 hit while striking out 8.
West returns to nonconference action Friday with a home game against Pea Ridge. Fayetteville 4,
Fort Smith Northside 0
Luke Davenport pitched a complete-game shutout to lead Fayetteville past the Grizzlies.
Davenport allowed 4 hits and struck out 6. Fayetteville took the lead with 3 runs in the second inning.
Matthew Magre had 2 hits and 2 RBIs for the Bulldogs.

Benton 3, Rogers High 2
The Lady Mounties allowed 3 unearned runs and lost the nonconference game Monday at Arkansas Tech.
Courtney Storey and Allyn Hensley each hit solo home runs for Rogers (1-1). Gravette 10, Elkins 0
The Lady Lions got a combined 2-hitter in the circle in a shutout win Monday.
Bailey Elmore and Lexi Gerner combined for 6 strikeouts for Gravette.
Offensively Gravette collected 7 hits. Emily Ellis was 2-for4 with a home run and 2 RBIs to pace the Lady Lions. Gerner was 2-for-2 with a double, and Gabbi Scott was 2-for-3 with 3 stolen bases.
Springdale Har-Ber 5, Mansfield 1
The Lady Wildcats struck for 4 runs in the first inning and made the cushion stand up on Monday.
Sophie Wood was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs for Har-Ber. Jacey Ewert had a triple, and Abi Scott and Kami Carpenter each had a double.
Cearra McPherson earned the win in the circle, going 4 innings and allowing 4 hits with 4 strikeouts.
Fort Smith Southside 11, Ozark 1
The Mavericks earned a runrule win on Monday as Callin Massey scattered 4 hits over 5 innings.
Southside’s Hailey and Hannah Houge delivered the big blows offensively as Hannah blasted a 2-run homer, and Hailey had an RBI double. Madi Conklin was 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs and Piper Morgan drove in two more runs for the Mavericks.
