Daugherty named AD of the year in NAIA
John Brown University Director of Athletics Robyn Daugherty has been selected the NAIA Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
Daugherty will be honored at an awards luncheon on June 29 in Washington, D.C.
She has served as the athletic director at JBU since 2006. In that time, sports teams at the Siloam Springs-based university have earned 11 national tournament berths and 152 JBU student-athletes have been named NAIA scholar-athletes.
Daugherty is a 1985 JBU graduate and a member of the women’s volleyball team. She also served as the women’s volleyball coach from 1990-2010.

Arkansas Tech men fourth in Las Vegas
Arkansas Tech University’s men finished fourth at the Las Vegas Desert Classic on Tuesday.
The Wonder Boys finished with a 888 (298-296-294). West Florida won with an 858 (297-276-285). Oklahoma Christian (886) and Grand Valley State (887) were second and third.
SOFTBALL
Home run sinks Razorbacks
Madison Perrigan’s home run in the second inning lifted Wichita State (10-8) to a 1-0 victory over the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville at Wilkins Stadium in Wichita, Kan., on Tuesday.
Bailey Lange (6-4) allowed 5 hits in 7 innings for Wichita State. Mary Huff (9-1) allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 31/ innings for Arkansas, which left eight runners on base.
