STUDENT SUCCESS

When Chancellor Karla Hughes became the University of Arkansas at Monticello’s 12th CEO in 2016, she launched a Student Success Initiative with a long-term goal to improve retention and graduation rates.

The first phase of that initiative will be complete this summer with the constructi­on of a Student Success Center, which will house elements of the registrar’s office, financial aid and the cashier’s office, as well as admissions and recruiting, housing, career counseling, academic advising, a bookstore and a Chick-fil- A restaurant.

ACADEMICS

UAM offers a Bachelor of Science degree in 15 fields, a Bachelor of Arts degree in 10 major areas, a Bachelor of Applied Science, a Bachelor of Business Administra­tion, a Bachelor of General Studies, a Bachelor of Music Education, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Social Work. UAM also offers seven master’s degrees, as well as seven areas of preprofess­ional study.

UAM’s Colleges of Technology at Crossett and McGehee offer a variety of two- year programs and technical certificat­es to assist those students who wish to pursue a fast track to the workforce.
