OVERVIEW

Baptist Health College Little Rock, a part of Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock, shapes the health of Arkansans by educating and mentoring health care professionals with excellence and Christian compassion.

In fulfilling its mission, the school has placed special emphasis on the values of service, honesty, respect, stewardship and performance.

The college’s purpose is to prepare graduates who demonstrate entry-level competency in their respective fields, exemplify professionalism and personify the Baptist Health values.

Since 1921, Baptist Health College Little Rock has served the needs of residents throughout Arkansas and the region by providing quality clinical-focused health care education in the areas of nursing and allied health. BHCLR is proud to offer nine programs of study in direct and indirect patient care. Admission cycles begin in July and January each year and require a free application that can be found at www.bhclr.edu.

ACADEMICS

BHCLR offers two nursing tracks designed to serve a variety of students, as well as a oneyear LPN (licensed practical nurse)/certified paramedic to RN (registered nurse) track. Registered-nursing graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in nursing and are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam. In addition, BHCLR graduates can earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through affiliations with Arkansas Tech University, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock or the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

BHCLR offers seven programs in allied health. Histotechnology, sleep technology and surgical technology are one-year certificate programs with no college prerequisites. Occupationaltherapy assistant is a two-year program earning an Associate of Applied Science degree. Baptist Health College Little Rock also offers three bachelor-level programs through affiliations with partner universities in radiography, medical laboratory science and nuclear medicine technology. All BHCLR programs are certified by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, as well as having individual certification in each field of study.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

Offering hospital-based instruction is key to the college’s student success. In each of its programs, students receive extensive clinical experience that begins early in the educational process. The college has the reputation of producing professional and competent graduates. With more than 175 points of access, including eight hospitals, Baptist Health is committed to delivering “all our best” in health care to the people of Arkansas.

Because of the focus on hands-on learning, BHCLR graduates celebrate excellent academic outcomes, exam passage rates and graduate placement rates for each program. Those who are interested can learn more about these statistics at www.bhclr.edu, under “academic outcomes.”

FINANCIAL AID
