Record Breaking Roller Coaster
Silver Dollar City rolling out biggest attraction ever
Silver Dollar City is always upping their game and 2018 is no exception.
“Time Traveler is truly a global sensation,” Lisa Rau said. “It is the world’s tallest, fastest, steepest and spinning roller coaster. It’s amazing.”
For months, coaster enthusiasts around the world have been buzzing about the new attraction that hits speeds of more than 50 miles per hour, makes a 10-story, 90-degree vertical drop, navigates three inversions and takes on a 95-foot tall vertical loop. Wow! All of that while the riders’ car makes a continuous controlled spin. No teacup spinning on Time Traveler.
“It’s like no other coaster on the planet,” Lisa, public relations manager for the park, said. “It’s sure to be record breaking.”
As with all Silver Dollar City rides, Time Traveler has an 1880’s design and no expense was spared in creating the load house’s clockwork factory theme. The coaster’s theme isn’t the only thing that sets it apart and is helping build anticipation.
“Most roller coasters spend quite a bit of time going clickity-clack up a lift,” Lisa explained. “Time Traveler has a gravity driven drop straight down out of the load house. You go into two launches and three inversions, and all the while is time moving forward or is time moving backward?”
Time Traveler was custom designed for the mountainous terrain of the Ozarks and is truly one of a kind.
“There is an awful lot to be said about the uniqueness of this ride,” Lisa noted. “Whether you are in Great Britain or Rogers, Ark., you’re going to want to ride this ride.”
