Rogers High 13, Valencia, Calif. 8

The Mounties scored seven runs in the top of the first inning and held on for the win Wednesday in the in the Coach Bob Classic in Phoenix.

Catcher Hayden Seldomrige went 3-for-5 with a home run and a double and drove in two runs to lead the Mounties’ 13-hit attack. McKaden Templeton, Matthew Watson and Brandon Husted added two hits each. Watson drove in three runs, while Templeton and Jay Watson drove in two apiece.

Valencia scored five runs, all unearned in the bottom of the fourth, to pull within 10-7. But Jay Watson pitched two scoreless inning to finish and help Rogers (7-3) hold on for the win.

Apollo (Ariz.) Glendale 8, Fayettevil­le 7

Fayettevil­le lost Wednesday to Apollo (Ariz.) Glendale at the Bob Weinheimer Invitation Tournament at Phoenix, Ariz. Apollo held on after building a 6-2 lead after three innings.

The defeat followed a split on Tuesday when Fayettevil­le won 10-4 over Palmdale, Calif., and lost 3-1 to Tolleson, Ariz Mustang, Okla. 10, Bentonvill­e 0 Bentonvill­e 7, McAlester, Okla. 1

Tyler Johnson had a solo home run and Austin Garrett threw a five-hitter as Bentonvill­e came away with a split Wednesday in Florida.

Brooks McDowell drove in two runs for the Tigers (6-4), who were limited to four hits but took advantage of five McAlester errors and eight walks.

In Wednesday’s early game, Mustang erupted for six runs in the second inning as Bentonvill­e managed just three hits.

McDowell had two of the Tigers’ hits. Nathan Lyons suffered the loss, allowing eight runs over four innings.

Greenwood 11,

Pueblo Central 1

Isaac Schwartz allowed four hits and struck out five to lead the Bulldogs to a run-rule win Wednesday.

Payton Holt was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Greenwood offense. Connor Noland was 2-for-2 with a double, triple and three RBIs. Colton Sagely and Jackson Webb had two hits each.

Greenwood 8, Kellis 5

A five-run fourth inning lifted the Bulldogs to a win in Wednesday’s late game.

Arkansas signee Connor Noland allowed four hits and struck out nine to earn the win.

Peyton Holt was 2-for-2 with a double and triple. Jake Smith was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Noland also belted a double.

Springdale Har-Ber 8, Covington 4

The Wildcats built an early lead and cruised to a win Wednesday in Memphis, Tenn.

Lucas McCain was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for HarBer. Blake Adams was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs and Hunter Wood also drove in two runs.

Treshon Paschal went the distance to earn the win, allowing six hits with eight strikeouts. Springdale Har-Ber 7, Houston 5

Blaze Brothers was 2-for-2 with a double to lead the Wildcats to a win in the second game Wednesday.

Mac McCrosky was 2-for-4 with a double and Blake Adams added a two-run double for Har-Ber (10-2).

Landon McAlister earned the win, allowing just one hit over five innings with six strikeouts. Knight 8, Prairie Grove 2

The Tigers fell behind early and never recovered on Wednesday in Phoenix, Ariz.

Prairie Grove managed just four hits in the loss. Drew Cates was 2-for-4 and a triple.

Ponderosa 7, Prairie Grove 4

The Tigers battled in a close game until the sixth inning, giving up four runs.

Chase Wade was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Prairie Grove.
