Up and coming fashion designers, stylists, photographers, models and production teams will have time in the spotlight during the spring 2018 Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week series of runway shows.

NWAFW is presented by the Arkansas Arts and Fashion Forum. Robin Wallis Atkinson, NWAFW chief executive officer and creative director, said proceeds from the week initially will provide designers with money to buy runway time at shows such as this. Atkinson said the group is working toward “fashion becoming a bigger part of the cultural landscape” in Northwest Arkansas.

The nonprofit organization has designs on offering educational opportunities such as a speaker series with leaders in various facets of the fashion industry to include corporate buyers, established designers and makeup artists.

To fill “the gap of education dedicated to the art of fashion,” plans include courses and workshops dedicated to topics as basic as pattern-making and tailoring and basic sewing machine skills to as advanced as couture stitching.

New this year, Shopping Night Out on March 28 — the eve of scheduled runway shows — will

afford fashion fans the opportunity to shop samples of featured designers’ works at partner boutiques in Bentonville.

Events include boutique runway shows March 29 at the Record in Bentonville, featuring Lola; Denim & Essentials; Hello Luvvy; Nancy Martin; Hubbard Clothing Co.; Maude; Indie; Ropa; and Ensemble of Elan; designer runway shows March 30 at the Record, including Love, Zelda; Rosie Rose; Felix Bui; Regal Radiance; Aimz; Gina Gallina; Ellen Elaine; and Korto Momolu. Shows March 31 also at the Record will highlight designs from Like Father, Like Son; Ink Jnk; A’Lyece Lenae; R-Gene; Richie Clark Clothing; G by Gavin; and Lauren James.
