Mount Sequoyah Assembly in Fayettevil­le, 150 N. Skyline Drive, offers the annual Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. April 1 at Vesper Point. The Rev. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayettevil­le, 224 N. East Ave., celebrates Palm Sunday with a procession­al up North College Avenue and down West Dickson Street, entering the church from East, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The church presents its choir in a performanc­e of the Messiah, part two, by George Friderich Handel, during a Palm Sunday Evensong at 5:30 p.m. today. Jack Cleghorn, organist and choirmaste­r, will conduct, with Ann Rye and Linda Kelly on organ.

The church presents “Meditation and Teaching with Anam Thubten,” a Tibeten Buddhist teacher, at 7 p.m. April 5.

First Presbyteri­an Church in Springdale, 100 S. Gutensohn Road, begins Holy Week with a procession of palms at the 10:15 a.m. service Sunday. A Maundy Thursday and Good Friday communion service begins at 7 p.m. Thursday. Easter worship, with a flowering of the cross, begins at 10:30 a.m. April 1.

The church also plans an Easter egg hunt for children at 10 a.m. March 31, and an Easter potluck breakfast at 9:30 a.m. April 1.

Genesis Church in Fayettevil­le, 205 Martin Luther King Blvd., a campus of Central United Methodist Church in Fayettevil­le, offers Holy Week services at 12:05 p.m. Monday to Friday. Lunch follows at 12:35 p.m. Various pastors from Central will speak during the services.

Central United Methodist Church in Fayettevil­le, 6 W. Dickson St., presents its chancel choir and orchestra performing Theodore Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ for Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The church hosts the M&N Augustine Foundation’s 24th annual “Trent Trumbo Memorial Easter Feed” on March 31. Volunteers are needed for many roles, including preparing Easter baskets, baking, serving, delivering and cleaning up.

Holiday Island Community Church, 188 Stateline Drive, presents Ellen Stephenson in concert from 1 to 2:15 p.m. April 7, to celebrate the 25th anniversar­y of the church. The free concert of Stephenson’s original music includes guest artists Jim Swiggart, T.J. Strecker and Cat Templeton.
