5 p.m. on TBS 2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament
The Elite 8 is all that’s left standing in the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament as the Region Finals begin today. The first of two of the Final Four will be decided today as the South and West Regionals wrap up in Omaha and Los Angeles. Last year, the Gonzaga Bulldogs, the top seed in the West prevailed over Xavier to earn their first Final Four berth, before eventually losing to North Carolina in the Championship game.
7 p.m. on + Bull
Isaiah Washington (The 100) guest stars as an attorney who becomes a defendant, accused of killing his fiancee, in “Bring It On.” Bull (Michael Weatherly) helps him, but ultimately determines the man is his own best weapon in providing an effective defense through his courtroom showmanship. Freddy Rodriguez, Geneva Carr and Jaime Lee Kirchner also star.
7 p.m. on NICK Nickelodeon’s 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards
Actor and professional wrestler John Cena returns to host this year’s ceremonies honoring the year’s best TV, movie and music acts as voted by Nickelodeon viewers, and broadcast live in most markets from The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. Nominees for favorite movie include Beauty and the Beast, The Greatest Showman, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Pitch Perfect 3, Spider Man: Homecoming, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Wonder Woman.
7:50 p.m. on DISNEY Movie: Frozen
The Disney studio added another animated smash to its inventory with this 2013 fantasy, adapted from Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen and sparked by a woman (voice of Idina Menzel) with the gift — and curse — of turning anything, or anyone, to ice. She runs away to prevent hurting those she loves, but her sister (voice of Kristen Bell) goes in pursuit. Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad also are heard, the latter as a snowman named Olaf.
8 p.m. on HALLMARK Movie: Royal Matchmaker
Having earned the nickname “Queen of Hearts” for her peerless matchmaking skills, Kate (Joy Lenz) is summoned to the small nation of Voldavia by its monarch, King Edward (Simon Dutton), who seeks her help finding a partner for his son, Prince Sebastian (Will Kemp,
Reign). The younger royal is wary when it comes to love, too, so Kate’s work is cut out for her, especially if she’s to complete her mission in time for a royal jubilee. Eva Trill also stars in this 2018 romance.
9 p.m. on TCM Movie: The Prisoner of Second Avenue
Jack Lemmon and Anne Bancroft give winning performances in this 1975 film adaptation of an unusually dark Neil Simon comedy, about middle aged New Yorker Mel Edison (Lemmon), whose problems are only beginning when he loses his long-held job during a hard economic recession. As his wife (Bancroft) tries to be supportive, the couple contends with a brutal summer heatwave, a prolonged garbage strike and the burglary of their apartment in broad daylight. Gene Saks, Elizabeth Wilson and Florence Stanley also star.
11 p.m. on ^ Austin City Limits
In a program from 2016, the ever-distinctive Iggy Pop performs material classic and recent, with members of Queens of the Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys lending support to the Detroit punk-rock legend. The album Post Pop Depression is showcased — and so is the star’s bare chest, since he opts to go shirtless at a certain point during his set. Selections include “Lust for Life,” “Sweet 16,” “Funtime,” “China Girl” and “Gardenia.”
