Spring is here and it’s time to break out the family camper and patio furniture for outdoor festivities. To prepare, you may want to update the upholstery on your outdoor or recreational furniture. In 2013, Cheryl and her son, Joe Ellis, opened Ellis Fabrics in response to the needs of Joe’s upholstery customers. “Customers would come into the upholstery shop and ask where they could get fabric,” stated Cheryl. “There were limited fabric options locally, so we decided that we would open the fabric store to offer customers a convenient place to shop for fabrics.”

Joe Ellis Upholstery has been in business since 2008 and does commercial and residential upholstery including antique and leather furniture, as well as outdoor cushions, RV/motor home furniture and cushions, doctor and chiropractor offices, restaurants, waiting room chairs, fitness equipment, and decorative pillows. Custom ottomans and headboards can also be built.

This is the time of year when people are ready to get out, sit on the deck, or go camping — and outdoor fabrics are a top seller during spring and summer at Ellis Fabrics. Camper and RV owners frequent the store during the spring and summer months to update or fix their upholstery.

“This is a really good time to get your outdoor cushions re-done,” noted Cheryl. “We also do a lot of RV’s and motor homes. As people are getting ready for the camping season, we can help them refurbish or update their RV cushions and furniture. In fact, we’ve done several this year already.” In addition, Ellis Fabrics also has a lot of new colorful, pretty spring fabrics that can freshen up your home for the season. “These fabrics are great for accent pieces or home décor, such as throw pillows, window seats, and cushions for your sunroom,” added Cheryl.

A wide range of outdoor upholstery fabrics are also offered that are perfect for spring projects. Ellis Fabrics does outdoor furniture cushions as well and can order outdoor fabric, such as umbrella fabric. These outdoor fabrics are also suitable for indoor use. “They make so many of them that look like indoor fabric, not just what you would expect when you think about outdoor cushions,” stated Cheryl. “We use a lot of the outdoor fabric in motor homes and window seats, especially when people have kids and pets because it is easy to clean and durable.”
