SPRINGDALE HAR-BER 6-8, SPRINGDALE HIGH 2-0

-

The Wildcats swept the 7A-Conference doubleheader at Arvest Ballpark on Monday. The games were originally scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, but coaches moved the games to Monday to avoid potential rainouts later this week.

In the opener Har-Ber (13-2, 3-1 7A-West) built a 4-0 lead and that was more than enough run support for starter Blake Adams. The Arkansas commit went six innings and allowed just three hits and two earned runs with 10 strikeouts to earn the win. Landon McAlister pitched the final inning and gave up two hits but struck out two.

Ben Roach took the loss for the Bulldogs, going four innings and allowing eight hits and five earned runs.

Blaze Brothers was 2-for-2 with two walks and two stolen bases from the lead-off spot for Har-Ber. Trevor Brown was 2-for-3 with a double and Adams drove in two runs.

Roach was 2-for-3 for the Bulldogs (9-7, 2-2) with an RBI, and Christopher Combs and Will Mueller each had a double in the loss.

In the nightcap, Blake Benson allowed two hits over 61/3 innings to lead the Wildcats to an 8-0 shutout. Tanner Sargent took the loss, going 61/3 innings and allowing six hits and six earned runs.

Jacob Williams was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Har-Ber, and Kirby Jenkins belted a double with three RBIs.

Austin Wages had a double for Springdale.
