Governor announces appointments
Gov. Asa Hutchinson recently announced the following appointments:
■ To the Waterways Commission, Craig Mobley, El Dorado, appointment expires Jan. 14, 2020, replaces Judge Michael Loftin; and Marty Shell, Fort Smith, appointment expires Jan. 14, 2025, replaces Paul Latture.
■ To the Home Inspector Registration Board, to terms expiring Jan. 26, 2020, W.C. McBride, Benton, who replaces Joseph Kanopsic, and reappointments Marliese Kerr, Little Rock; Wayne Pace, Little Rock; Allen Trammell, Alexander.
■ To the Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board, to terms expiring Jan. 15, 2021, Joshua Barkhimer, Camden, replaces Peter Prutzman; and reappointments Scott McKennon, Morrilton; Brian Hester, Farmington; Tom Ferstl, Little Rock; and Cary Matthews, Jonesboro.
The governor also appointed:
Jeremy Sparks, Fayetteville, to the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission. Appointment expires Jan. 14, 2024. Replaces Sarah Martin.
James Mardis, Rogers, to the Arkansas-Oklahoma Arkansas River Compact Commission. Reappointment expires Feb. 1, 2022.
John Baxter, Fort Smith, to the Contractors Licensing Board. Appointment expires Dec. 31, 2022. Replaces Steve Russell.
Lee Watson, Fort Smith, as a special associate justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. CR-17-684 Elizabeth Robert Force v. State of Arkansas. Replaces Chief Justice John Dan Kemp, who has disqualified himself from the case.
Josh Newton, Bryant, as a special associate justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. CV17-723 The Park Apartments at Fayetteville, LP, et al. v. Shilah Plants. Replaces Justice Josephine Linker Hart, who has disqualified herself from the case.
Louis Bastin, Fort Smith, as a justice of the peace for the Sebastian County Quorum Court, District 8. Appointment expires Dec. 31. Replaces Donald Carter Sr.
Rose Mary Fite, Sparkman, as a justice of the peace for the Dallas County Quorum Court, District 7. Appointment expires Dec. 31. Replaces Alfred Fite.
Jackie Sikes, Clinton, as a justice of the peace for the Van Buren County Quorum Court, District 9. Appointment expires Dec. 31. Replaces Richard Sundelin.
Baxter County Judge Mickey Pendergrass, Mountain Home, as a special county judge in Marion County court. Marion County Court Case Numbers 2016-001 and 2017001. Replaces Marion County Judge Terry Ott, who has disqualified himself from both cases.
