PREP SOFTBALL Springdale Har-Ber 6, Rogers Heritage 4

Sophia Wood hit a three-run home run in the first inning to help the Lady Wildcats take a quick lead and held off a late Rogers Heritage rally to claim the 7A-West Conference win Wednesday.

Wood’s three-run homer in the bottom of the first came after the first two Har-Ber hitters reached on errors. Har-Ber added two more unearned runs in the second to grab a 5-0 lead and held on for the win.

Cearra McPherson picked up the win, allowing two runs on six hits over five innings for HarBer (10-15, 4-10 7A-West). She struck out four and walked six. Shelby Swaffar pitched the final two innings for the save. She allowed two runs (both unearned on two hits, struck out two and walked one.

Lora Brown and Allyson Fultz led Heritage (14-12, 6-7 7A-West) with two hits each.

Springdale Har-Ber 13, Joplin, Mo. 3

The Wildcats jumped out to a quick lead and never let up in a run-run nonconfere­nce win Thursday.

Blake Adams belted a pair of home runs and drove in four runs, and Mac McCrosky was 4-for-4 with a double and triple for the Wildcats (28-4).

Landon McAlister went three innings to earn the win, allowing one hit with two strikeouts. Treshon Paschal pitched two innings, allowing just one hit and two strikeouts.
