-

Mallorie Spielmaker, a student at Prism Education Center, has been nominated to be an Academic All-Star by High School Principal Misty Newcomb. “Mallorie has demonstrated tremendous leadership capacity through her pursuit of academic excellence, service to her community, and engagement in almost every type of activity one could imagine,” noted Newcomb. “Mallorie consistently chose harder coursework including concurrent credit courses each semester of her junior and senior years.” This includes the following college courses: Composition I, Composition II, Public Speaking, and Psychology.

“Despite her extensive involvement in community choirs, leadership both locally and globally in faith-based initiatives, and participation in basketball and track, she still maintained a 3.952 unweighted GPA and was recognized by NWACC as a Rising Scholar,” added Newcomb. In addition to her high GPA, Mallorie also has an ACT score of 25. She has applied to and intends on attending University of Arkansas majoring in Special Education.

“Mallorie can be found tutoring students or teaching piano to younger children every day after school,” stated Newcomb. She is also involved in her community and school in multiple aspects, including Northwest Arkansas Community Choir, Proverbs University with The Community church, University of Arkansas Children’s Choir, and Overall Team Player (Lady Bears Varsity Basketball Team). Mallorie has also received multiple honors and awards including Jewel Minnis Scholarship and Leadership Scholarship (2017), Guest Vocalist with Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (December 2014 and 2015), Rising Scholar (Northwest Arkansas Community College), Beta Club (2018), and Project Global Connect (program that connects youth from across the globe / 2014-2016).

“Prism Education Center has had a strong impact on me both academically, and in my character and values,” stated Mallorie. “Prism focuses on being a whole individual. Academics requirements are high, but that isn’t the only thing that is developed. The teachers have also developed who I am as a person.”

“I learned through a journey that life goes ways we don’t expect sometimes and that if we embrace the change and take the most out of it, then we can achieve things we never thought we could,” added Mallorie. “I will take those lessons with me, and know these principles will ensure my success.”
