Hart Cemetery meeting set
The Hart Cemetery annual decoration day with devotional and annual report will begin at 2 p.m. May 27 at the cemetery in Bentonville.

NEBCO has breakfast
The NEBCO Fire-EMS annual Memorial Day breakfast will be from 7 to 10 a.m. May 28 at the NEBCO Community Center, U.S. 62 and South Wimpy Jones Road in Garfield. Enjoy a full-country breakfast of sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes, pancakes, biscuits and gravy with a drink; $7 for adults, $4 for kids ages 5 to 12 and free for kids younger than 5. Also the department will hold “Music at the Firehouse” with the Black Oak Band from 7 to 9 p.m. June 9 and 23 at the Community Center.

Dent Cemetery meets May 27
The Dent Cemetery Association will hold their annual business meeting at 2 p.m. May 27 at the cemetery. Donations may be made at the cemetery or deposited at any Arvest Bank or People’s Community Bank at Washburn, Mo., or Seligman, Mo.

Blood Center seeks donors
The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks strives for area blood reserves to be at around a three-day supply for all blood types. The blood center has less than optimum reserves for all negative blood types. The public is urged to help by donating at a CBCO blood drive or donor center.

Memorial Day ceremony set
The Fayetteville National Cemetery will hold the annual Memorial Day Observance Ceremony at 10 a.m. May 28 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery, 7000 Government Ave., in Fayetteville. The event will include a full schedule of events to pay tribute to those who lost their lives while serving in the armed forces.
Retired Colonel Anita Deason will provide the keynote address for the ceremony. Other highlights will include a canon volley, posting of the colors and placement of memorial wreaths. The public is encouraged to attend and pay tribute.

Diversity celebrated
DTR Community Unity, a new nonprofit in downtown
Rogers, is hosting a Community Unity Diversity Celebration from 2 to 7 p.m. June 2 at the downtown Rogers Farmers Market, 101 E. Cherry St. The event will benefit a different community service based organization each year, with this year’s proceeds going to the Northwest Arkansas Center for Equality. The NWA Center for Equality serves as an education, advocacy, resource and service organization to the citizens of Benton and Washington counties They provide free HIV testing services, a variety of support groups as well as social and community outreach events.

Garden Club plans party
The Bella Vista Garden Club will hold their 2018 Garden Party from 4 to 8 p.m. June 8 at Simple Pleasures, 13718 Rothbury Drive in Bella Vista. Held in cooperation with the city of Bella Vista and the Bella Vista Property Owners Association, the event will feature local artists, music, appetizers, wine, raffles, a silent auction and more. Emergency aid taught
Bleed control training can prepare an individual to provide bystander help in an emergency before professional medical help arrives. Washington Regional, in partnership with Arkansas Emergency Nurses Association, will offer a free one-hour bleed control course that is part of the “Stop the Bleed” national campaign. This initiative seeks to teach the public about proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use direct pressure, wound packing and tourniquets to help victims with uncontrolled bleeding.
The class will be held at 10 a.m. June 14 at Washington Regional Center for Support Services, 274 W. Appleby Road in Fayetteville.
Participants should park in the Washington Regional employee parking lot located at the corner of Gregg Avenue and Appleby Road, then follow the sidewalk up the hill to Center for Support Services. No advance registration is required.
