Elm Springs United Methodist Church, 118 N. Elm St., welcomes the Rev. Jonathan Griesse as its new pastor. Griesse is a 1993 graduate of John Brown University in Siloam Springs and worked a career in video and marketing. He earned a master of divinity degree in 2015 from Asbury Theologica­l Seminary in Wilmore, Ky., served First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs and spent several years in the mission field with his family.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fayettevil­le, 2925 N. Old Missouri Road, will consecrate its new solar energy installati­on at 10:15 a.m. Sunday. The church last month installed a solar energy system designed to produce 100 percent of the church’s anticipate­d energy needs.
