Move the city forward
Over the last few months, I’ve had the honor of engaging with voters across the city. The message was clear: the next mayor must have a plan to unify and move Little Rock forward.
As a product of Little Rock public schools, I empathize with parents who want their schools back. These parents deserve a mayor who will fight to place their child’s future back in the hands of communities that know them best.
As a local banker who has financed numerous small businesses, I identify with business leaders who want a mayor that will grow jobs and provide opportunities for residents to thrive. The business community deserves a mayor who will cut red tape at City Hall and create a worldclass work force.
As an associate pastor and lifelong resident, I’ve observed firsthand the devastating impact of crime. Little Rock deserves a mayor that understands safeguarding our city starts with investing in our youth, a fully staffed police force, and fostering trust between police and the community.
And with the growing racial and economic divides, Little Rock deserves a mayor that’s committed to bringing people together—I believe I’m that leader.
Soon I will roll out a comprehensive policy agenda for my campaign. My jobs plan will build on assets like UAMS, Port of Little Rock, and UALR. My plan will also create a Little Rock Economic Development Corporation and chief equity officer role so teenagers, former gang members, and public housing residents have the assistance they need to find work.
My public safety plan will include special gun courts aimed at getting our worst offenders off the streets. Additionally, my plan will improve coordination with the U.S. Attorney, and create an independent citizen oversight board to empower residents in cases of police misconduct.
Together, we will reach our true potential as a city. I look forward to running a campaign that reflects the values and drive of the folks that make me proud to call this place home. FRANK SCOTT Little Rock
