BELLA VISTA — Daniel Luther Lovaas, 91, of Bella Vista, Ark., died peacefully Thursday, June 28, 2018, at home. Daniel was born June 17, 1927, in Taylor, Wis., to Grace and Olaus Lovaas.

Daniel served in the U.S. Army and worked as a finish carpenter in the constructi­on business.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers: Orren, Henry and Paul. Daniel is survived by his wife, Eunice; daughters Patricia, Linda, LeAnn (Joe) Cisneros, and Kathy; son Bradley and grandchild­ren, Erin and Matthew Cisneros.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 7 at United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista. Lunch and a time of fellowship will follow the service. Memorials may be given to the United Lutheran Church.

HUNTSVILLE — James Michael Hargis, 46, of Huntsville, passed away July 2, 2018. He was born July 23, 1971, the son of James Earl and Diann Ferguson Hargis.

Mike was a member of the Marble United Baptist Church and a logger.

Mike was predecease­d by his father; his paternal grandfathe­r, Willis Hargis; and maternal grandparen­ts, Harvey and Alta Mae Turner. He is survived by his children, Chandler and Marissa Hargis, Emily Hargis and Tim Fort; his mother and step-father, Diann Hargis and Bob Welsh; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Michelle and Todd Mathis, and Megan and Craig Villines; one granddaugh­ter, Braelyn Alia Hargis; his paternal grandmothe­r, Beatrice Hargis; and numerous other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5–7 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018, in the Bruce Brashears Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2018, with Brother Craig Villines officiatin­g and private interment to follow. Pallbearer­s are Bill McMillian, Bob Welsh, Raymond Gregory, Kenny Yarbrough, and Kenton Yarbrough. Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.

MARBLE — Maxine Foster, 91, of Marble, passed away July 2, 2018, at Huntsville.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m., July 6, 2018, in the Bruce Brashears Memorial Chapel. Funeral services are 10 a.m., July 7, 2018, with interment at Big Sandy Cemetery. Services entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.

ROGERS — Dorothy Ellen Swan, 86, passed away on June 30, 2018, at her home on Beaver Lake. She was born Feb. 15, 1932, in Panama, Okla., to Eugene and Lila (Hobbs) Ward. Dorothy grew up and attended school in Keota, Okla. She went to work for Southweste­rn Bell in Tulsa, Okla., where she held various positions until her retirement in 1982. Afterwards, Dorothy and her husband John moved to Beaver Lake in Rogers, Ark., to start their retirement lives together.

After moving to the lake, Dorothy started turning their weekend cabin into a welcoming full-time home. She designed her own kitchen and bay windows to make it their own. She loved sitting on the back deck, drinking coffee and watching the wildlife. She usually had the best garden on the hill. Dorothy loved to go fishing early in the morning, then bring her catch home and cook it up. She was always there to step up and help anyone who needed it.

More than anything, she loved her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Darrell Herrington; and brothers, Phillip, James, Bill, and John Ward.

She is survived by her husband, John Swan; son, Ron Herrington (Mary) of Tulsa, Okla.; daughters, Diane Dupree (Jesse) of Broken Arrow, Okla., Cheryl Swan (Pete Meyers) of Tulsa, Okla.; brothers, Tom and Elbert Ward; eight grandchild­ren; five great-grandchild­ren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n, or to an animal rescue of your choice.

SPRINGDALE — James Lewis Hathorn, 84, of Springdale passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Nov. 29, 1933, in Kingston, Ark., to Grover and Dalphia Wiggins Hathorn.

James was an ordained Pentecosta­l Church of God minister for over 50 years, and he was the pastor of the Gospel Lighthouse in Springdale, Ark., for 37 years. He owned and operated Hathorn Constructi­on for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lorena Barnett and one brother, Truman Hasty.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Gage Hathorn of the home; one son, Cecil Hathorn and wife Darlene of Tontitown; three daughters, Brenda Trolinger and husband Ricky of Ohio, Charlotte Joyner and husband Lester of Hindsville and Teresa Hutcheson and husband Jeff of Bethel Heights; three sisters, Betty Harrison of Springdale, Loretta Dunivan and husband Larry of Springdale and Barbara Yarbrough of Springdale; six grandchild­ren, five great-grandchild­ren (and two on the way), and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 6, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Gospel Lighthouse in Springdale with Rev. Phil Redding and Pastor Jeff Hutcheson officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.

GARDEN CITY, Kan. — LaVern Brau, 91, died Friday, June 29, 2018, in Garden City, Kan. He was born April 19, 1927, in Lakeview, S.D.

He lived in Springdale, Ark., and worked for the Northwest Technical Institute Springdale. Survivors include a sister, Sister Annrene Brau of Independen­ce, Kan.

Services will be in Garden City, Kan., and burial in Scott City, Kan. The family suggests Memorials be given to VFW in Springdale. Condolence­s may be given at garnand funeralhom­es.com.
