Naturals fall to Hooks 15-6

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Lorenzo Quintana hit three home runs and drove in six runs, as the Corpus Christi Hooks defeated the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 15- 6 on Monday.

With the victory, the Hooks swept the three- game series.

Quintana hit a solo shot in the second, a three- run shot in the third and a two- run shot in the sixth.

Ryne Birk doubled and singled twice in the win.

Corpus Christi starter Akeem Bostick ( 1-2) picked up the win despite allowing six runs and six hits over six innings.

Opposing starter Dallas Beeler ( 0-1) took the loss in the Texas League game after a rough outing in which he allowed seven runs and nine hits over 32/ innings. 3

The 10 extra- base hits for Corpus Christi included a season- high seven doubles.

Alex Liddi homered twice, driving home three runs and scoring a couple for the Naturals.

With the win, Corpus Christi improved to 10- 2 against NW Arkansas this season.

MISSIONS 4, TRAVELERS 1The

San Antonio Missions broke open a 1- 1 game in the bottom of the seventh inning with three runs as the Arkansas Travelers fell 4- 1 on Sunday night at Nelson Wolff Stadium in San Antonio. Travs relief pitcher Matt Tenuta allowed two singles and a walk while recording two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

With the bases loaded, reliever Matt Walker replaced him to face San Antonio’s Fernando Tatis Jr., who doubled to left field to drive two runs. A third run scored on left fielder Chuck Taylor’s errant throw.

The Travs took a 1- 0 lead in the top of the second inning after Chris Mariscal walked, stole second, moved to third on a ground out and scored on a wild pitch. Webster Rivas’ RBI single in the bottom of the inning tied it for the Missions.
