WASHINGTON COUNTY

Caudle Avenue Baptist Church in Springdale, 404 Caudle Ave., serves a free community meal at 5 p.m. today. The University of Arkansas offers a course on introducti­on to Jewish languages during the fall semester, taught by Jacob Adler, rabbi of Temple Shalom of Northwest Arkansas in Fayettevil­le. The class meets from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.

The course will introduce the Hebrew alphabet and several languages written in Hebrew letters — ancient and modern Hebrew, Aramaic and Yiddish.

BENTON COUNTY

Downtown Church of Christ in Rogers, 201 W. Chestnut St., sponsors vacation Bible school at 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Don Patton, an archaeolog­ist, will speak and display some artifacts. Patton has made many trips to Mount Ararat, the alleged site of the ark, and worked all over the world.

Unity Church of the Ozarks, 12 McKissick Creek Road, Suite 1210, Bentonvill­e, presents comedian Greg Tamblyn in a comedy concert at 7 p.m. July 26 at the church. Cost is $15 a person or two for $25.

The Presbyteri­an Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., hosts its annual back-to-school brunch at 8:30 a.m. July 21. A representa­tive of the Gravette schools will speak, sharing informatio­n about the district’s “Bright Futures” program. The church also collects school supplies for Gravette students.

United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista,

100 Cooper Road, offers a summer Bible study for the Women of the Evangelica­l Lutheran Church in America, led by the Rev. Karen Fowler-Lindemulde­r, at 9:30 a.m. Monday.

The church sponsors vacation Bible school from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. The theme is “Rolling River Rampage.”
