Off in the wilderness

-

Democrats are behaving like children throwing a tantrum over President Trump’s Supreme Court candidate—impending disasters, women’s rights set back decades, the needy losing their health care—with the mainstream media cheering them on.

Senate Democrats declared they won’t support any Trump candidate. Brett Kavanaugh’s achievements and D.C. Circuit Court experience surely qualify him for consideration.

Roe v. Wade won’t be overturned, the world won’t end, and as predicted, Obamacare is probably headed for collapse. It’s reported the coming year’s premiums, to be announced in October, will be so exorbitant thousands can’t afford them—even though, thankfully, the individual mandate was rescinded, allowing people to choose the coverage they actually need.

The economy is strong with more jobs than workers. Black unemployment is the lowest on record. However, the national debt must be reduced with spending cuts. It’s long been known that without changes, Social Security will be bankrupt in a few years. In the beginning, there were many workers to support each recipient; however, with baby boomers retiring and a lower birth rate, the ratio is dropping. Common sense and stated assurances say those already on or approaching the program won’t be affected.

For decades our leaders have been polite and diplomatic while most of the world took advantage of our country—now we have a president who’s demanding fairness and equality. Foreign trade deficits are debts and with no surplus require borrowing.

Democrats best be concerned about what radicals are doing to their party—free health care, free college, no immigration control (ICE). Also, a phrase could be added to the abortionist slogan: A woman’s right to choose … to kill her baby. BARBARA N. FOREMAN
