12 state graduates selected as National Merit Scholars

Twelve recent graduates of Arkansas high schools are among 550 newly named winners of National Merit Scholarshi­ps financed by colleges and universiti­es. The college-sponsored awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergradu­ate study. The Arkansas students, their high schools, their probable career fields and the institutio­ns providing their scholarshi­ps follow.
