Make safety priority

-

Asa wants $180 million in tax cuts for his cohort. But we can’t afford for the state to hire a resource officer for each school? School districts with less funding resources than Asa’s cohort must provide for the resource officers needed themselves. How does that comply with the equal protection under the law requirement? We’re hearing that folks can’t afford to pay for the needed officers. But it does appear they’d find a way to pay the thousands of dollars in funeral costs if over a dozen or so of their kids are shot for a lack of one.

You get only three shots at a Mallard duck at one time. But Republicans and the NRA think kids being shot with military-style guns is OK, it seems. If not, they’d not allow the possibility.

Religious fundamentalists will fight like hell to save a five-cell zygote, calling it a “precious life,” but allow the wholesale slaughter of viable, living kids to keep the NRA vote and their lobbyists’ money. And the shame is so many of them call themselves evangelical Christians and are very much responsible for that aberration being in the Oval Office!

The Bible says “God is not the author of confusion.” You shouldn’t lie and blame God. Folks, if we can afford millions for football coaches, shouldn’t our kids be of higher priority than football coaches? KARL HANSEN
