BEAVER LAKE

Black bass are biting plastic worms or live worms.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers recommends using small plastic worms on a drop-shot rig 20 to 25 feet deep. Points are good spots to fish. Some anglers use live nightcrawlers on a drop-shot rig with good success, he said.

Catfish are biting well at night. Use live sunfish to catch flathead catfish. Go with liver or stink bait for channel catfish. For walleye, troll a nightcrawler rig slowly along flats 20 feet deep.

Bluegill are biting well on crickets. Average water temperature is 85 degrees.

BEAVER TAILWATER Carl Kaso at Beaver Dam Store said trout are biting well on Power Bait in bright colors. Micro jigs are the best flies. Good colors include olive, white or peach. Little power is being generated at Beaver Dam so wade fishing conditions are good. Striped bass are biting on the lake side of the dam at night. Use shad or brood minnows.

LAKE FAYETTEVILLE Jordan Leak at the lake office said bluegill are biting well on crickets or worms. A pink or white spinner, such as a Rooster Tail, may work to catch black bass, crappie or catfish.

LAKE SEQUOYAH

Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said black bass are biting top-water lures early. Use crank baits later in the day. Catfish are biting well on stink bait or liver. Bluegill fishing is good with worms or crickets four feet deep. Good numbers of good-sized bluegill are being caught, he said.

BELLA VISTA

Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass are biting fair at all city lakes on big plastic worms or big jig and pigs. Bluegill are biting fair on crickets or worms 15 to 20 feet deep. Catfishing is fair with nightcrawlers or stink bait.

SWEPCO LAKE Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said the best black bass fishing is at night. Try spinner baits or plastic worms in dark colors.

ILLINOIS RIVER Stroud said black bass are biting well on plastic worms, plastic lizards, grubs and tube baits. Buzz baits are also working.

EASTERN OKLAHOMA Stroud recommends using deep-diving crank baits at Lake Eucha. Try top-water lures at sunset.

TABLE ROCK LAKE Missouri Department of Conservation reports catfish are biting well on sunfish, goldfish or large minnows. Black bass are biting fair on soft-plastic crawdads or single-tail grubs 25 feet deep along gravel points.
