Concerned about him

-

Every day I grow more concerned about the direction President Trump is taking our country. It is obvious that he only wants “yes men” or “yes women” around him; differ with him and you are out or are given a lashing on Twitter.

I think that the reason he courts the Putins and Kims of the world is because he is a wannabe dictator and he envies them. As a business owner, he is used to getting his way (like a dictator does), so he gets rid of anyone who disagrees with him or is a perceived threat. I am not a mental health professional so this is from a layperson, but based upon what I hear and read, Trump comes across as paranoid (they’re trying to take me away hoho, they’re trying to take me away, hehe). Trump’s pledge to “make America great again” was doomed the minute he won the presidential election. America has always been great! It’s the leadership that gives the appearance that America is failing.

OK, I did not vote for Trump, someone who would try to run America like he runs his business (which anyone with any common sense could see as an automatic failure). Nor did I vote for Billery, because I figured that she would probably be impeached before the middle of her first term. I just could not guess which one would be worse for America. At least Billery had some experience with world politics. Trump comes across as a mob leader.

Trump cannot be the only person in America who is correct in all that he does. Everybody makes an occasional mistake, with most people being honest enough to admit it so it can be corrected. In Trump’s mind, he cannot make a mistake, so if something is not correct, it is the fault of someone else. Ah, Mr. Trump, being president of the United States of America is not a reality television show, and sorry, but it is not a dictatorship. LLOYD QUALLS JR. Russellville
