HARRISON 56, MOUNTAIN HOME 7

Ben Johnson threw five touchdown passes in the first half as Harrison rolled past Mountain Home in a nonconfere­nce game at Garrison Stadium.

Gabe Huskey had four receptions for 215 yards and two scores, including a 99-yard touchdown toss that gave the Goblins (2-0) a 21-0 lead with 8 minutes, 52 seconds left in the first half.

Johnson finished with an 8-for-10 performanc­e for 319 yards as Harrison led 35-0 at halftime. Huskey also added 87 yards on 11 carries.

MANSFIELD 40, WALDRON 7

Junior quarterbac­k Ethan Stovall accounted for 176 total yards and five touchdowns as the Tigers pulled away for the big win Friday.

Mansfield (2-0) led only 21-7 at halftime, but junior Layton Howard recovered a fumble on the second-half kickoff, which led to a touchdown. Howard also returned the opening kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown.

Stovall threw for 119 yards and a touchdown while running for four more touchdowns. Senior Zac Woolbright also rushed for 84 yards and Blayne Bryant recovered a fumble.

LINCOLN 48, WESTVILLE, OKLA. 6

Caleb Lloyd passed for 231 yards and rushed for 50 yards to lead Lincoln past Westville, Okla.

Lloyd completed 21 of 28 passes with three touchdowns for the Wolves, who led 26-0 at halftime and 48-0 after three quarters. Noe Avellaneda had 7 catches for 87 yards and 1 touchdown while Sterling Morphis added 3 catches for 44 yards and 1 score.

HACKETT 26, POCOLA, OKLA. 7

Hackett returned two intercepti­ons for touchdowns to beat Pocola, Okla.

Hackett was holding an 18-7 lead when Cooper Shipman returned an intercepti­on 96 yards in the fourth quarter. Anthony Collins had two intercepti­ons and returned one for a 50-yard touchdown. Shipman rushed for 57 yards and Brady Hester added 46 yards rushing for the Hornets (1-1).

SUBIACO ACADEMY 20, LAVACA 12

Subiaco Academy used a strong defensive effort to turn back Lavaca.

Thomas Bourgeois led the way with four sacks and 12 solo tackles. Gage Lee had 127 yards in returns and swung the momentum back for the Trojans with a 72-yard kickoff return for a touchdown after a score by Lavaca.

CLARKSVILL­E 41, PARIS 0

Clarksvill­e grabbed a 20-0 lead in the first quarter and rolled to a victory over Paris.

Nicholas Buckner had 17 carries for 168 yards and 1 touchdowns and also threw for two scores. Jamie White added 68 yards and 1 touchdown on 11 carries.

MAUMELLE 40, PEA RIDGE 30

Pea Ridge couldn’t recover from an early 20-0 deficit as the Blackhawks fell to 0-2 against Class 5A competitio­n.

Maumelle went on to build a 33-7 halftime lead, including a 99-yard intercepti­on return for a score with no time remaining. Tate Busey had Pea Ridge’s first-half score with a 2-yard run, then he added a 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

The Blackhawks added a 20-yard touchdown pass from Busey by Brayden Ralph and a 5-yard touchdown run by Samuel Beard, as well as Luis Reyes’ 40-yard field goal. Busey finished with 75 yards on 14 carries, as well as 13of-25 passing for 202 yards.

BERRYVILLE 28, WEST FORK 14

Kooper Logan had 193 yards and two touchdowns rushing to lead Berryville to a season-opening victory at West Fork.

Tristan Updegraff added 71 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, while Richard Heithold had 42 yards and a score.

RUSSELLVIL­LE 28, MORRILTON 23

The Class 6A Cyclones (1-0) opened a 21-7 halftime lead, then held off the rival Devil Dogs, who made a game of it with 16 second-half points.

Quarterbac­k Rhett Adkins opened the scoring on a 10-yard touchdown run and threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Jaiden Palmer to give Russellvil­le a 14-7 lead after the Class 5A Devil Dogs (0-2) tied the game at 7-7.

Russellvil­le led 21-7 at the half after Titus Riley’s 65-yard intercepti­on return.

Morrilton’s 10-point third quarter cut Russellvil­le’s lead to 21-17, but the Cyclones gained breathing room on Kade England’s 24-yard run for a 28-17 lead.

Morrilton scored with seven seconds to play to make the final score close.

BLYTHEVILL­E 26, OSCEOLA 21

Brian Denkins scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 23-yard run in the fourth quarter to lift the Class 5A Chickasaws over the Class 3A Seminoles.

It was a back-and-forth game throughout, with Osceola (0-1) taking a 7-0 lead on Carl Miners’ 12-yard completion to Greg Hooks.

Blythevill­e tied it 7-7 on a 33-yard pass from Jaheim Carter to Amari McChristia­n in the first quarter, but Osceola regained the lead on Kam Turner’s 2-yard run before Blythevill­e tied it 1414 before halftime.

Turner’s 45-yard run gave Osceola a 21-20 lead in the third quarter, but the Chickasaws won it on Denkins’ fourth-quarter score.

MAYFLOWER 59, CAC 35

Mayflower opened a 27-7 halftime lead then expanded the lead over the final two quarters to win a shootout over Central Arkansas Christian.

Keon Simmons had a pair of long scoring runs for the Eagles.

Gentry Miller found Garrett Overstreet with a 31-yard touchdown pass and Dylan Burnett scored on a 6-yard run for the Mustangs who also got a 5-yard touchdown run from Brock Hendricks.

BAUXITE 45, DES ARC 44

Quarterbac­k Seth McDowell accounted for 4 touchdowns — 2 rushing and 2 passing — and the Miners (2-0) held off the Eagles (1-1).

McDowell scored on runs of 5 and 3 yards, the second tying the game 14-14 at the outset of the second quarter.

Bauxite added two touchdowns and a field goal in the second quarter to lead 31-22 at halftime.

The Miners scored on McDowell’s 69yard completion to Braylon Walker, a 32-yard Turner Soothard field goal and Hunter Davis’ 7-yard pass to Eason Sandage.

Bauxite led 38-30 entering the fourth quarter, but Des Arc cut the lead to 3836 on Cooper Roberts’ 2-yard run. The two-point conversion failed.

McDowell’s second touchdown pass, a 45-yard completion to Davis, gave the Miners a 45-36 lead with 5:32 to play in the game.

The Eagles made it close on a 3-yard pass from Roberts to Luke Martin and a two-point conversion with 2:31 to play.

CABOT 35, PINE BLUFF 14

Behind 377 yards on the ground and a 63-yard kickoff return to start the second half, the Cabot Panthers cruised to a victory over Pine Bluff on Friday night at Panther Stadium in the season opener for both teams.

Senior T.J. Rogers ran 11 times for 149 yards, and junior Graham Turner added 117 yards on 18 carries in giving Coach Mike Malham victory No. 298 in his career.

Cabot (1-0) scored the game’s final 21 points and held Pine Bluff to 54 total yards in the final two quarters. The Panthers also controlled the clock for more than 15 minutes in the second half.
