ELM SPRINGS — Teddy Fay Downum, 75, of Elm Springs, Ark., died Sept. 3, 2018, at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayettevil­le, Ark. Born September 9, 1942, in Elm Springs, Ark. He was the son of George Olen Downum and Mary Allene Burnett Downum.

Teddy and LaDena Mitchell were married on May 8, 2010. He was a barber and owned Ted’s Barber Shop in Elm Springs for over 42 years. He was a member of Elm Springs United Methodist Church, Ozark Cattlemen’s Associatio­n and was a Mason. Teddy loved fishing, woodworkin­g, gardening, working with cattle, telling stories and was quite a jokester.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Naomi.

Survivors include his wife, LaDena of the home; children, Sarah Freitag and husband Scott of Eagle Rock, Mo., Joe Downum and wife Kimberly of Elm Springs, Ark., and Andy Downum and wife Maverin of Elm Springs, Ark.; six grandchild­ren, Rhiannon Miller, Westyn Miller, Brayden Downum, Kayleigh Jo Downum, Chase Downum and Jack Downum; brothers, Gene Downum and wife Joanna of Portervill­e, Calif., Gary Downum and wife Linda of Elm Springs, Ark., and Donald Downum of Elm Springs, Ark.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Elm Springs United Methodist Church, Elm Springs, Ark. Burial will follow at Elm Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at Elm Springs United Methodist Church, Elm Springs, Ark.

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Harry Barrett, 88, Fayettevil­le died Sept. 3. Born July 8, 1930, Milwaukee, Wis., to Clarence and Stella Barrett. Harry was a member of Grace Lutheran, Lowell. Preceded in death: his parents and wife, Zoe. FAYETTEVIL­LE — Edith Margaret Ehrmann of Fayettevil­le passed away on Sept. 3, 2018, at 83 years old. She was born on April 20, 1935, in Perry, Ark., to Joseph and Nadine (Jackson) Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Willard Smith.

Edith was an Arkansas native who moved to Arizona where she lived for over 20 years before returning to her home state. She went on to have a distinguis­hed career with the Arkansas State Department of Education, leading the Displaced Homemaker programs and had a major role in creating and funding the Single Parent Scholarshi­p.

She is survived by her children, Kelly Morgan and husband Phil of Tucson, Ariz., Bert Ehrmann and wife Terri Warholak of Tucson, Ariz., and Meredith Taylor and husband Todd of Springdale, Ark.; her brother, Wayne Smith of Bayfield, Colo.; sister, Mary Rhoades and her husband Sam of Mountain Home, Ark.; four grandchild­ren, Jake Stark and his wife Laura, Ariel Morgan, Aaron Taylor, and Ethan Taylor; great-grandchild, Abigail Elizabeth Stark; and her chosen sister, Ramona Gibbons.

A memorial service will be held at Sequoyah United Methodist Church in Fayettevil­le on Friday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, Ariz., at a later date.

HARRISON — Josephine Terry Cash passed away at her home Monday, Sept. 3, at the age of 92.

Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church in Harrison, Ark., from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, with services at the First Baptist Church Friday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Rob Davis officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearer­s are Aaron Gray, Jordan Theis, Paul Satterwhit­e, Herb Terry, Jr., Joseph Terry, Randy Kimes and Jim Kimes.

She was born July 17, 1926, in Harrison, Ark., to Bras and Hattie May Terry.

Josephine was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Harrison for over 70 years. She was one of God’s Angels helping friends and family in many ways. She was also active in her ukulele group, giving programs to nursing homes and senior citizen groups. Josephine was married to Mosco Cash for 74 years. She was still working with Mosco, age 94, at the Home Ice Company and Ozark Poster Advertisin­g Company. Both companies have been owned and operated as a family business with the help of daughter, Connie Cash Gray, husband Phil Gray, and son Aaron Gray for many years. Josephine and Mosco were dedicated to their family, church, and community. They built the Cash Center at the Harrison football field, locker rooms, and coaches offices for the Harrison Goblins. In addition, they provided the Harrison High School track, which was named in her honor, the Jo T. Cash Track.

Josephine and Mosco were also key contributo­rs to a variety of Arkansas athletic programs. The dormitory at Williams Baptist College at Walnut Ridge was named Cash Hall in their honor. A college traveling band also took their name, calling themselves the “Cash Hall Band.” Josephine was a loving wife, wonderful and giving mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Pete Terry; and one sister, Mollie May Terry Waits.

She is survived by her husband, Mosco Cash, of the home; three children, Dr. Jerry Cash and wife, Shara of Springfiel­d, Mo.; Connie Cash Gray and husband, Phil of Harrison; Nancy Cash Theis and husband, David of Little Rock; four grandchild­ren, Dr. Tara Cash, Shay Cash JD, and husband Paul Satterwhit­e JD, all of Springfiel­d, Mo; Aaron Gray, and wife, Sarah of Harrison; Jordan Cash Theis and wife Ebtisam of Orlando, Fla. Great-grandchild­ren include Graham Henry Satterwhit­e, Lena Grace Satterwhit­e, Clara Satterwhit­e, Nate Cash Lask, Ellie Cash of Springfiel­d, Isla Gray of Harrison, and Hendrix Cash Theis of Orlando; one brother, Herb Terry, of Harrison.

Besides Josephine’s family, her favorite things were bread and butter pickles, Dr Pepper, and providing slices of her banana nut bread to anyone that walked in the office. She was always known for her kindness and generosity with people and the community. Josephine Cash, one of God’s Angels on earth, now has her wings.

LITTLE ROCK — Richard “Dick” Clarence Rechtin, 89, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, with his family at his side.

He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Joan (Bare) Rechtin; his sister, June Fernandez; his daughter, Julie Williams; his son Mark Rechtin and his wife Tammy; and six wonderful grandchild­ren, Jake, Sarah, Michael, Pierce, Garrett and Anna.

Dick was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son or Clarence and Catherine (Kues) Rechtin.

After graduating from Western Hills high school, he attended the University of Cincinnati, where he was a proud member of Pi Kappa Alpha, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business in 1952. It was at UC where he first met Joan driving home in a snowstorm. They were married in 1952 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church.

Dick joined the Kroger company where he worked for 20 years. Kroger brought Dick and Joan to Little Rock in 1963 where he held his favorite position with Kroger, Head Meat Merchandis­er for the Little Rock division. Shortly after leaving Kroger, he started his own business, Mark VII, a food brokerage which he successful­ly operated in Little Rock for the next 21 years. Dick was a highly ethical and hardworkin­g entreprene­ur providing employment for over a dozen people at the peak of his business in the early 1990s. Dick dearly loved his friends and family, had a nickname for everyone he loved, had a great sense of humor, and was an avid golfer. He will be greatly missed.

Dick’s body will be available for viewing at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock on Thursday, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fayettevil­le on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. A graveside burial service will also be held in Little Rock at Mt. Holly Cemetery on Broadway Street on Saturday, Sept. 8, at noon.

MONTICELLO — Ted Douglas White, 66, of Monticello, died Sept. 1, 2018. He was born Oct. 25, 1951, in Warren, Ark., to the late Clyde P. White and Effie Cox White.

He was a retired contractor and master electricia­n. He and his wife owned/operated Key Mobile Home Service in Monticello for over 20 years. He quietly used his time, skill, and talent helping others and giving to the community. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Monticello and also attended Second Baptist Church in Monticello.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Lewellyn White and Larry Preston White.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rondie Webb White; two daughters, Wyndi Wilkes of Simpsonvil­le, S.C., and Telese (A.J.) Huffman of Monticello; one son, Bill (Laura) Jones of Huntington, Ark.; three brothers, Bob (Nancy) White of Hot Springs, Ark., Raymon (Mary Anne) of Flower Mound, Texas, and Nick (Faith) White of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two sisters, Joye (Charles) Cooper of Paris, Ark., and Paulette Sutton of Monticello; six grandchild­ren, Whitley Wilkes, Anna Coleman, Seth Wilkes, John Coleman, Madelen Jones and Drew Huffman; a number of nieces, nephews, and other family. No services are planned at this time.

ROGERS — Ralph M. (Buck) Harris, 87, passed from this life on Sept. 2, 2018, after a short illness with brain cancer. He was born in Rogers on Jan. 3, 1931, to the late Leroy and Winnie L. (Nida) Harris.

He served in the Arkansas National Guard for 11 years with one year being in Korea. He was a lifelong resident of Rogers and a member of Grace Baptist Church. Buck loved to work in his garden and then give all the produce away to neighbors and friends. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Willa Dew Kerr.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lilly Harris of Rogers; sons, Greg (Judy) Harris of Harrison and Michael (Megan) Harris of Rogers; daughter, Regina Harris Cane of Rogers; six grandchild­ren, Courtney, Kelsey, Phillip, Joshua, Jacob and Colby; two great-grandchild­ren; and three sisters, Sally (Bob) Fletcher of Dallas, Lynne Hopewell of Georgia and Betty Harris of Rogers.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at 4 p.m. in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, with military honors to follow.

ROGERS — Born Aug. 8, 1920, Orville Theodore (Ted) Lowe was the son of William J. Lowe and Ella Bush, of Verden, Okla. William was a rancher and WWII veteran.

Ted is survived by a younger brother; three children; numerous grand- and great-grand kids.

Ted grew up working on his parents’ ranch, and received show ribbons for animal husbandry. He enjoyed sports and was on Verden’s high school basketball team.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army at WW II’s beginning, and also helped in recruitmen­t centers. His unit was in numerous battlefron­ts in Germany where he was captured and marched hundreds of miles in winter to a Polish internment camp. He remained as a POW for 18 months, until the Russian army freed the camp.

Ted met Margie Jean Johnson, of Tulsa, Okla., prior to the war in college and they were married. After his release as a prisoner, he went back home still on duty.

Margie and Ted traveled for over 60 years. Travel highlights include Japan, Alaska, Vietnam, Germany and Iran. In 1946, he was in charge of hundreds of local workers at a large hydroponic farm in Japan which helped feed U.S. forces in the Pacific region, just after the war’s end.

He retired after 30 years as Lt. Colonel, and was awarded Silver Stars, two Purple Hearts, and other medals reflecting his notable career.

Memorial service with Honor Guard was held at Collinsvil­le Dolton Funeral Home for family and friends on Sept. 1, 2018.

SPRINGDALE — Everett Lee Evans, age 81, of Springdale, Ark., died Monday, Sept. 3, 2018. He was born Feb. 28, 1937, in Fayettevil­le, Ark., the son of Lester Lee and Eithel Shackelfor­d Evans.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Colleen Evans; his parents; and two sisters.

Everett was a lineman for Ozark Electric in Fayettevil­le and retired with 35 years of service. He served in the United States Air Force. After retirement, he ushered at all the Razorback sporting events for many years. He played golf for decades across Northwest Arkansas and loved following his grandson Jacob’s baseball games.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia Evans; two sons, Kevin Lee and his wife Pamela Stanton Evans of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Daryle Lee Evans of Waxahachie, Texas; two grandchild­ren, Alexandra Evans and Jacob Evans and wife Lauren; sister, Irene Evans Serfass of Fayettevil­le; brother, Hoover and wife Georgie of Springdale; and brother Herman and wife Emily of Springdale; three stepchildr­en; seven step-grandchild­ren; and many nieces and nephews.

SPRINGDALE — Pauliene Adele Todd, 77, of Springdale went to be with her Lord Sept. 2, 2018. She was born Aug. 26, 1941, in Huntsville, Ark., the daughter of Dell Grigg and Vella Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Todd and a grandson, Tyler Head.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Pointer and husband, Forrest of Clifty, Ark., Darlene Napier of Springdale, Ark., Wanda Tabar of Springdale, Ark., Clifton Head and wife, Sherri of Lowell, Ark., Ronnie Head and wife, Guylene of Pea Ridge, Ark.; 11 grandchild­ren and numerous great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Ave., Springdale. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at a later date.
