UALR makes quick work of UAPB

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock swept the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on Friday at the UCA Invitation­al in Conway 25-12, 25-10 and 25-10.

Sydnee Martin led the Trojans (6-3) with 11 digs and Taylor Lindberg had 10, while Mya Robinson had 9 kills and Pamela Suluaga added 18 assists. Lindberg also had 10 assists for UALR.

Kendalle Howard had 10 digs to lead the Golden Lions (1-8), while Haley Gomez had 7 kills and Britney Sahlmann added 14 assists.

Arkansas State bounces back

Arkansas State University defeated Southeast Missouri State in five sets Friday, then swept Providence at the Kangaroo Classic in Kansas City, Mo.

Carlisa May had a season-high 22 kills and 11 digs in the victory posted a over season-high SEMO, while 10 kills Madison each. Turner Ellie Watkins and Isabel added Theut 48 assists and 10 digs for the Red Wolves.

May led ASU with 17 kills in the victory over Providence and Macy Putt added 10. Watkins had 37 assists and 12 digs.

Arkansas Tech sweeps two matches

Arkansas Tech University won both of its matches Friday at the GAC/MIAA Crossover in Shawnee, Okla., defeating both Southwest Baptist and Missouri Southern in straight sets.

Allie Anderson had 11 kills and a .234 hitting percentage in the victory over Southwest Baptist, while Meredith Darnell led the Golden Suns with 20 digs and Hunter Eshnaur added 13. Amanda Milnick led Arkansas Tech with 19 assists and 10 digs in the victory over Missouri Southern.

OBU earns split

Ouachita Baptist University lost its first match Friday at the Newman Invitation­al in Wichita, Kan., in straight sets, then earned a sweep in the second match.

Stormi Leonard had 33 assists, Julianna Mack had a teamhigh 19 digs and Adrianna Nolly added 11 kills to lead the Tigers in the loss to Northwest Missouri State. Katie Camp led OBU with 15 kills and a career-high 16 digs in its victory over host Newman University.

UAFS drops two matches

The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith lost both of its matches Friday at the Newman Invitation­al in Wichita, Kan., losing to Missouri Western and Central Missouri in three sets.

Debra Rogers and Anna Demmer combined for 26 kills in the loss to Missouri Western, and Taylor Stoops added 33 assists. Pilar Onstad had a team-high 21 digs for UAFS.

Rogers and Demmer teamed up for 27 combined kills in the loss to Central Missouri, while Onstad had 23 digs and Stoops had 36 assists.

Harding loses twice

Harding University lost both of its matches Friday at the Argo Bash in Pensacola, Fla., losing to Lee University and West Florida.

Emily Clayton led Harding with a season-high 14 kills in the loss to Lee, Racel Heussner had 40 assists and 15 digs, and Taylor Eubank had a team-high 27 digs. Clayton also led the way against West Florida with 11 kills. Taylor Lake had a team-high 22 digs.

SAU falls to Dallas Baptist

Bailey Cagle had seven kills, while Caitlin Murdock added 19 assists and 5 digs in her first collegiate start Friday as Southern Arkansas University fell to Dallas Baptist in straight sets in Dallas. Camryn Bihary led the Muleriders with 18 digs, and Rylea Brimhall had a team-high .333 hitting percentage.

Lyon suffers two losses

in Lyon Springfiel­d, College Mo., lost both on Friday. of its matches at the Evangel Classic

Michayla Shanks had a team-high 7 kills and 11 digs to lead the Scots in their opening loss to host Evangel University, while Kaitlyn Jackson added 9 assists. Jackson and Ellie Embry both had 21 assists to lead Lyon in a loss to College of the Ozarks.
