■ Philip Snider, 73, of Canton, Ohio, pleaded guilty to killing his wife, initially telling police that he dumped her body in the Tennessee River, then changed his story and said he put it in a dumpster in Kentucky, leading authoritie­s to believe the body likely ended up in a nearby landfill.

■ Jalen Darrel Bonner of Birmingham, Ala., was arrested on a sexual abuse charge after a woman told authoritie­s that a man wearing only socks grabbed her from behind, putting his arms around her waist as she walked from her backyard into her house and ran away when she turned around.
