FAYETTEVIL­LE — Jerol Herreid Garrison, of Fayettevil­le, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 86 years old. Visitation will be Thursday September 13, at Moore’s Funeral Chapel from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral will be Friday at Central United Methodist in Fayettevil­le at 2 p.m. Condolence­s may be given at www.mooresfune­ralchapel.com.

HARRISON — Martin John “Marty” Catlin, 57, of Harrison, died Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayettevil­le. He was born May 11, 1961 in Salina, Kansas to William Lee and Janet Althea (Heald) Catlin. Marty served in the Air Force and was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps. He loved God, his family and friends, and was a fun compassion­ate individual who impacted all who knew him. He enjoyed airplanes, running combines from Kansas to Canada during harvest, playing his drums and music. Marty was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Harrison.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Bohannan) Catlin; two sons, Jamie Yeager and wife Shelby of Pea Ridge, Jon Yeager and wife Yolanda of Bentonvill­e; three brothers, Maury Catlin, Michael Catlin, and his twin, Matt Catlin, all of Kansas; two sisters, Melanie Barrientos of Kansas, Marsha Morrison of Colorado; and five grandchild­ren.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Springdale. Interment will be at Elm Springs Cemetery.

A memorial service in Harrison will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 15, at Woodland Heights Baptist Church.

SPRINGDALE — Brenda Ann Boren, 65 of Springdale, Ark., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, September 8, 2018. She was born July 1, 1953 in Sacramento, Calif., to Dan and Jean McAlister.

Brenda was a graduate of Henderson State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, a retired teacher and full-time seamstress, however her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchild­ren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Boren, and her brother, Alan McAlister.

She is survived by her parents, Dan and Jean McAlister of Hope, Ark., two sons, Brant Boren and wife Danielle of San Diego, Calif., James Boren and wife DeAnna of Springdale, Ark., one sister Dana Roberson of Texarkana, Texas, companion Ernie Wehn of Springdale Ark., five grandchild­ren, Ellie, Rhett and Wesley Boren (Brant), and Brenner and Colter Boren (James), five nieces, Amity Jeffers, Shelly George, Brooke Alston, Jill Jones, Katie Flory, one nephew, Brock McAlister, and her sewing group who she met with in her sewing palace.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 11th from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayettevil­le with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. with Reverend Barry Whedbee officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayettevil­le.

SPRINGDALE — Virginia Blair Melton, 87 of Springdale passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayettevil­le. She was born August 5, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Cecil Clyde and Gussie Martin Blair.

Virginia was a homemaker and a member of the Red Hat Club. She loved the Senior Center. Her husband was in the United States Air Force traveling to many places. He retired in 1970 and they moved back to the Springdale area. She enjoyed tattering and preserving foods.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Clifford Melton, her parents, her siblings, Cecil Blair, Mary Saunders, Franklin Blair, John Blair, her son-in-law, Dr. Carlos Pagés, two grandsons, Christophe­r Wesley Melton and Robert (Bobby) Melton.

Survivors include two sons, C. Wes Melton and wife Christina of Fort Smith and Dr. William Melton and wife Lucy of Gravette; one daughter, Dr. Joyce Melton Pagés; four grandchild­ren, Jeffrey Marcus Melton, Mariana Angelica Pagés, Nick Thomas Melton and wife Erin Gale and Daniel Anthony Pagés; one great-granddaugh­ter, Liliana Marie Mandujano.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 13, 2018 at 2pm at Sisco Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

KANSAS, Okla. — Virgil Lewis Miller, Sr., 79 year old resident of Kansas, Oklahoma, died on September 8, 2018. He was born on October 2, 1938 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas, to Harry Miller and Lena Belle Jamerson Miller. Virgil graduated from Vandale High School and joined the United States Navy. He worked as a butcher and meat manager in Wynne, Arkansas for many years, and also as head electricia­n for Allen Canning Company in Siloam Springs, before retiring. Virgil married Jewell Denmon on August 31, 2001 in Fayettevil­le, Arkansas. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Miller; and two sisters, Vontilla Walls and Marcella Evans.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell Miller; son, Lewis Miller; three daughters, Carlena Hudson and husband Steve, Morgan Barrett, and Jessica Barrett; four step daughters, Bridget Cox, Misty Loftin, Patricia Watts and husband Kevin, and Betty Eckart and husband Dib; step son, Mark Benton; 19 grandchild­ren; 9 great grandchild­ren; four brothers, Wayne Miller, Lester Miller, Sr., Troy Miller, and Donnie Miller all of Wynne, Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, with Pastor Terry Wofford officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Baptist Mission Cemetery in Westville, Oklahoma.
