J. Bachmeier, age 88, of Bella Vista passed away Sept. 21, 2018.

Arthur West, 73, of Bella Vista passed away Sept. 23, 2018. He was born July 1, 1945, in New York City.

Russell was a registered nurse.

Louise Meadors, 68, of Bentonvill­e, Ark., passed away Sept. 27, 2018, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonvill­e. She was born Dec. 13, 1949, in Bentonvill­e to Tilmon E. Tolbert (Happy) and Juanita Coppinger Tolbert.

Fay worked for Tyson Foods.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Johnny Meadors; and sister, Janet Walker.

Ernestine V. Fuhrer, 65, of Fayettevil­le died Sept. 24, 2018, at her residence. She was born Jan. 23, 1953, in Beebe, Ark., the daughter of Louise and Ernest Harrington.

Ernestine enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, listening to music, watching old movies, and loving on her two dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James D. Fuhrer; her paternal grandmothe­r, Audie Bean; and her maternal grandmothe­r, Jewell Rock.

Reva Mills, age 83, of Fayettevil­le passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, in Prairie Grove. She was born Nov. 23, 1934, in Chelsea, Okla., the daughter of Lucian M. and Clara Pearl Martin Mills.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Dwight Mills and three sisters Lena Ledford, Joan Caudell and Lucian Lee.

She retired from Campbell Soup. She volunteere­d at Fayettevil­le Public Library in the genealogy department and was a member of Hyland Park Assembly of God Church in Fayettevil­le.

She is survived by a sister Dixie Mills of Fayettevil­le; several nieces, nephews and other family members.

Bettie Sue Weathers, 90, of Fayettevil­le went home to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018. She was born on March 2, 1928, in Russellvil­le, Ark., a daughter of James Ernest and Tina Lorene Motley Hood.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 57 years, Fred Allen Weathers; and a brother, J.E. Hood.

She worked as a telephone operator and a revenue office clerk. Bettie enjoyed painting, traveling, dancing and loved to entertain. She was a member of Wiggins United Methodist Church since 1966.

Bettie is survived by two sons, James Weathers and wife, Mary Kay and Ken Weathers and wife, Kaye; four grandchild­ren, Jennifer Murillo and James Doyle Weathers and Kasey and Kory Weathers; and 10 great-grandchild­ren.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, at Beard’s Chapel.

LITTLE ROCK — Daniel Howard Barnhart,

75, of Little Rock died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock. He was born Dec. 4, 1942, in Rochester, N.Y., the son of Ralph and Mary (Gerber) Barnhart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bruce and Clayton Barnhart.

Danny is survived by his brother, Lloyd Barnhart and his wife Carol, of Fresh Meadows, N.Y. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Jo Barnhart; his niece, Sara Barnhart Eichmann and her husband Justin; and his great nephew and niece Elliot and Eleanor Eichmann, all of Fayettevil­le.

Danny graduated from high school in Illinois, where his family moved during his father’s sabbatical, however he always considered Fayettevil­le High School his alma mater, class of 1960. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1960 and served his country in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1966 and spent some time travelling around the U.S. before settling in Little Rock.

Danny was an artist and jeweler by trade, a Razorback fan, an avid storytelle­r and a friend to all. At his request, no services are planned. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Fayettevil­le at a later date.

ROGERS — Cora “Ruth” Wells, age 89 of Rogers, passed away Sept. 28, 2018. Ruth was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Newport, Ark., to parents Charles Hawkins and Cora Pickens Hawkins.

She was united in marriage to Louis C. Wells and they enjoyed many years together. Ruth worked mainly as a secretary and was always a great support to Louis as he served a career in the U.S. Navy.

In later years Louis and Cora moved to Northwest Arkansas. Ruth enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis and one great grandson, Jameson. Ruth is survived by her sons, Kelly Wells and wife Julie of California and Gary Wells of Rogers; grandsons, Joshua and Jed Wells of California; eight great grandchild­ren and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. SPRINGDALE — On Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, Harold

Bohannan, 78, of Springdale and lifetime area resident, left us to go hunting. He asked that we pack up his trusty old rifle and a few boxes of shells. Harold has gone to where he can hunt every day and has great hopes of getting that 10 to 12-point buck he has been after.

He leaves behind his wife, Vivian; one son, Mike Bohannan and wife Debbie who loved hunting with his dad; one daughter, Marsha Mackey; two grandchild­ren, Courtney Hoffman and Cody Mackey and wife Leanna, who were always elated to hunt with Grandpa; three beautiful great-grandchild­ren belonging to Cody and Leanna; one sister, Dorothy Maestri; one brother, Kenny Bohannan; and many extended family members.

Mildred Eva Bowen, 89, of Springdale, Ark., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home.

Mildred was born on June 30, 1929, to Martin and Myrtle Bradshaw in Berryville, Ark. She cherished her time with her family and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Bowen; one grandson, Joseph Bowen; a brother, Joyl Bradshaw; and two sisters, Cliffie Douglas and Ima Jane Bradshaw.

She is survived by her son, Joy Bowen and wife Sheila of Lowell, Ark.; two grandchild­ren, Heather Bowen and Brandon Bowen both of Bentonvill­e, Ark.; six great-grandchild­ren; two brothers, Danny Bradshaw and wife Wilma, and Russell Bradshaw and wife Ulena, all of Harrison, Ark.; two sisters, Maxine Strough and husband Bert of Berryville, Ark., and Dee Houser and husband Bill of Springfiel­d, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

“Pete” Clark, 82, of Springdale, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 27, 2018. She was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Fort Smith, Ark., the daughter of W.L. and Emma Carmack Baskin.

She was a member of Cross Church Springdale. Juanita loved the outdoors, drinking coffee and most of all, spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Smith; second husband, Gene Clark; son, Jimmy David Smith; and brothers, Bob Baskin and Buddy Baskin.

She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Taylor and husband Johnny of Springdale, Ark.; brothers, Gene Baskin and wife Stephanie of Johnson, Ark., and Duane Baskin and wife Louetta of Springdale, Ark.; sister, Mildred Stepp of Springdale, Ark.; grandchild­ren, Jonathan Taylor and wife Sarah, and Julie Taylor; and great-grandchild­ren, Edward, Emma and Shiloh.

SPRINGDALE — Ellis

Lloyd Sutton, 74 of Springdale passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at his home. He was born Oct. 3, 1943, in Texarkana, Texas, to James and Margye Hooker Sutton.

Ellis was an engineer for 35 years. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Robinson Avenue Church of Christ in Springdale where he taught the Grandpa Devo class. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, woodworkin­g, metal works, gardening and fishing. He liked going to thrift stores and attending estate sales.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Dyian Sutton of the home; two daughters, Charity Celeste Sutton Mohorn and husband Seth of Springdale and Hope LaNae Moss of Springdale; three brothers, Douglas Wayne Sutton of Texarkana, Texas, James Lenox Sutton of Mabelvale, Ark., and Richard Lee Sutton and wife Jan of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Sherry Lenore Sutton Jaggers and husband Ken of Benton, Ark.; five grandchild­ren, Ian Austin Sutton Mohorn, Eli Wyatt Sutton Mohorn, Dyllon Ellis Moss, Dawson James Moss and Ashlynn Dyian Moss.

SULPHUR SPRINGS —

Arthur Gary Lefevere, 70, of Sulphur Springs, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, at Circle of Life. He was born Dec. 13, 1947, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Alfonse and Helen LaFever Lefevere.

He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from Gravette School District where he worked as a Title 1 aide. He had also been a truck driver, school bus driver, CNA, and social worker in a nursing home in St Joseph.

He was a gifted musician and played guitar in The Old Town String Band and Alto Clarinet in the Bella Vista Community Band. He had a great love of dogs and took in many strays. He was a Pentecosta­l.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home and his brother, Tommy, of Sulphur Springs.

WICHITA, Kan. — Charles “Chuck” Harland,

67, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018. He was born Oct. 6, 1950, in Clarinda, Iowa.

Chuck owned several businesses that specialize­d in smoked meats, tire repair, and small engine repair. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, helping with the Boy Scouts, and collecting items to fix.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin (Bernice) Hall. Chuck is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marcia; children, John (Andrea) Whitaker of Emporia, Kan., Shanley (Teresa) Loffer of Lindsborg, Kan., Ethan (Lucy) Harland of Wichita, Kan., and Seth (Misty) Harland of Wichita, Kan.; and grandchild­ren, Alyxandrea, Jessie, Jayden, Zachary, Garrett, Julie, Taylor, and Jackson. EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Charles “Charlie” D. Baird,

age 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, surrounded by his family in his home at Eau Claire, Wis., after a yearlong battle with colon cancer.

Charles was born on March 23, 1944, in Williford, Ark., to Irene and Chester Baird. Charles attended Williford High School. After his high school graduation he attended several institutio­ns of higher education including Harding University in Searcy, Ark. (BA in accountanc­y, 1966), Memphis State University (master of business administra­tion, 1967), and University of Missouri Columbia (ABD degree in accountanc­y, 1971).

He spent his profession­al life dedicated to teaching accounting. He taught at Mankato State University (five years), University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (17 years), and at the University of Wisconsin-Stout (18 years). Charlie loved teaching and advising. He cared deeply about his students and was willing to spend numerous hours helping them master accounting concepts. He loved sharing jokes and cartoons in the classroom to help illustrate his lessons. Among his colleagues, he was even known to pull occasional pranks. He retired from teaching in January 2017 with emeritus status.

In 1971, he started his own private accounting business and helped numerous business owners and individual­s with tax returns, tax planning, and consulting over the years.

Charlie also worked with the Small Business Developmen­t Center. He helped numerous entreprene­urs and business owners create business plans that were launched in Eau Claire and surroundin­g areas. Seven of those plans he helped prepare went on to become winners in the Creating Your Own Business contest.

Charlie was a faithful member of the Eau Claire Church of Christ. He was a charter member, and served as treasurer for the Flaming Pine Christian Youth Camp for several years. Additional­ly, Charlie enjoyed the outdoors; especially fishing, camping, and gardening. Other hobbies included traveling with his family, collecting antiques, and coaching Little League. He loved to watch baseball when the Milwaukee Brewers or the St. Louis Cardinals played which were his two favorite teams. He loved and collected all things chocolate and his grandchild­ren affectiona­tely knew him as “Grandpa Chocolate.”

Charles is survived by his wife Kaye of 51 years, his children Sheree Baird of Little Rock, Ark., and Dan (Genevieve) Baird of Searcy, Ark.; his brother CC (Pat) Baird of Williford, Ark.; four grandchild­ren, Eden, Zane, Kellen, and Ike; and many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Irene

Baird.
