Indifference in voting is real threat to nation

-

The words “good” and “politician” when used together may sound to some like an oxymoron (a contradiction in terms: think jumbo shrimp, original copy, seriously funny). But, it really isn’t a contradiction at all, or at least it shouldn’t be. Our country was founded as a representative republic, meaning that citizens vote people into office who have our best interests in mind and at heart.

Consequently, if our government is not filled with good people with honorable intent to serve our country well, it is our fault, the voting citizens, for putting them there. We must scrutinize our candidates carefully and find those good men and women. One such candidate for the Arkansas state Senate is Jon Comstock, a man of high standards, a man dedicated to listening to our concerns about this beautiful state of ours, a man who has pledged to make decisions that are right for all Arkansawyers, not just for one party or another. He is careful to say that we may not always agree with a vote he makes as a state senator, but he promises to always vote his conscience and his duty to do right by all the people of the state, to consider what is best for one and all.

So, scrutinize, demand answers before you vote. Meet the candidates and find the good politicians to represent us. Vote for the good politicians. The greatest threat to the future is indifference!
